Ghost Brothers of Darkland County will play Whitney Hall on Friday, October 11, 8 p.m.

Two of the most original theatre artists in America, the long-form improvisers TJ & Dave, will be presented at The Town Hall, 123 West 43rd Street, for the first time on Friday October 11 at 8pm. The unique theatrical event, presented by Barrow Street Productions and The Town Hall, will also incorporate the talents of special musical guest Ike Reilly, the Chicago-based songwriter and solo performer. Singer/Songwriter Jamey Johnson takes to the stage at Indian Ranch in Webster, MA today, July 21 at 2 PM. Last fall Johnson released his duet tribute album to songwriter Hank Cochran titled Living for a Song: A Tribute to Hank Cochran. When word got out that acclaimed Nashville artist Jamey Johnson was recording a tribute album to beloved songwriter Hank Cochran, musical superstars clamored to participate. From the ranks of the Country Music Hall of Fame came George Strait, Emmylou Harris, Merle Haggard, Kris Kristofferson, Ray Price and Vince Gill, not to mention Cochran's oldest and truest friend, Willie Nelson. Veteran stars Leon Russell, Elvis Costello, Bobby Bare and Asleep at the Wheel perform on the album alongside contemporary artists such as Alison Krauss, Lee Ann Womack and Ronnie Dunn.

I have to admit, at first I thought I was being lied to when I was told that Stephen King and John Mellencamp collaborated on a musical. I mean, I love the musical CARRIE, but I've never thought of Stephen King writing as fodder for musicals. Needless to say, my curiosity was piqued. I simply couldn't hide my excitement about getting the opportunity to listen to the concept album-like soundtrack for GHOST BROTHERS OF DARKLAND COUNTY, a musical with a Book by Stephen King, Music and Lyrics by John Mellencamp, and Musical Direction by T Bone Burnett. With one listen, it was more than apparent that the bluesy, folk-rock music on the disc expertly captures Americana in a sinister and foreboding way.

The Old Globe will present a one-night-only Jeff Buckley Tribute Concert on Monday, Aug. 19 at 7:00 p.m. that will feature several prominent San Diego artists covering the songs of the legendary musician.

The Los Angeles Philharmonic's classical season at the Hollywood Bowl opens with celebrated conductor Michael Tilson Thomas leading the orchestra in Mahler's Second Symphony ('Resurrection') with the Los Angeles Master Chorale and soprano Kiera Duffy and mezzo-soprano Sasha Cooke, tonight, July 9, at 8 pm. Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers, featuring Edie Brickell add Philadelphia stop to their North American tour, which kicked off on May 22 in Ft. Meyers, Florida. The highly anticipated tour is the first for Martin and Brickell, who will perform songs from their album Love Has Come for You tonight, June 27 at 8 p.m. at the Kimmel Center's Verizon Hall.
