A country music legend whose life was cut tragically short comes to life in the hit musical, A Closer Walk With Patsy Cline, playing at John Hancock Hall for two weeks only, Wednesday April 7 through Saturday, April 17.

The StageSource Board of Directors has named long-time Huntington Theatre Company Managing Director Michael Maso as the recipient of the 2010 StageSource Theatre Hero Award. The Theatre Hero Award is being presented to Maso for his service, inspiration and role as a champion to Boston area theatres and the arts. The Elliot Norton Awards will take place at the Paramont Theatre on May 17.

The Huntington Theatre Company will end its run of artistic director Peter DuBois' hit 2009 Off Broadway production of Becky Shaw, a wickedly funny black comedy about a blind date gone bad on April 4th.

Publick Theatre Boston presents Joe Orton's timeless, dark comedy Entertaining Mr. Sloane March 11 through April 3, 2010 at the Plaza Theatre at the Boston Center for the Arts, 539 Tremont Street in Boston's South End.

Evanston's Next Theatre Company will end its production of Return to Haifa by Evanston-based playwright M.E.H. Lewis which is directed by Next's Artistic Director, Jason Southerland, on March 21.

Urban Stages (Frances Hill, Artistic Director, Lauren Schmiedel, Managing Director) will present the World Premiere of the musical Langston in Harlem, featuring a book by Langston Hughes, Walter Marks and Kent Gash, with music by Walter Marks, lyrics by Langston Hughes and directed by Kent Gash, with musical direction by Barry Levitt and choreography by Byron Easley. Langston in Harlem will begin previews on Friday, April 9; opening on Thursday, April 15, 2010 and will initially run through May 2, 2010.

Local playwright Masha Obolensky's new play Not Enough Air will end its run at the Nora Theatre Company March 14th. Not Enough Air tells the riveting story of two women: one on trial for murder, the other a writer determined to tell her story. Performances of the show began February 11th.

Apollinaire Theatre Company's production of Neighborhood 3: Requisition of Doom will end its run on March 14th. The show is written by by Jennifer Haley and features an ensemble of 8 directed by Fauteux Jacques.

Catalyst Collaborative@MIT, Underground Railway Theater's science theater initiative with MIT, presents the World Premiere of From Orchids To Octopi: An Evolutionary Love Story by award-winning playwright Melinda Lopez and commissioned by the National Institutes of Health in order to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of 'On the Origin of Species'.
