Horse Trade to Present Theater in Asylum's #CORIONLANUS World Premiere Tonight

Horse Trade Theater Group and THEATER IN ASYLUM will present the World Premiere of #CORIOLANUS adapted and directed by Paul Bedard based on William Shakespeare's Coriolanus, beginning tonight, July 5, and running through July 20 at UNDER St. Marks (94 St. Marks Place). The production will feature choreography by Katie Palmer and an Original Score byRandall Benichak with Lighting Design by Dan Stearns (Incendiary Agents at The New Ohio), Costume Design by Dave Burrington (Sleep No More), Media Design by Kelly Colburn, and Dramaturgy by Samantha Keogh and Katie Palmer. The Production Stage Manager will be Amelia Lembeck.

Returning after extended runs at the New York International Fringe Festival Encore Series and Off Broadway's SoHo Playhouse, The New Colony's award-winning 5 LESBIANS EATING A QUICHE will play the Snapple Theater Center's Anne L. Bernstein Theater (210 West 50th Street at the corner of Broadway, New York City). The play returns for a special three performance Pride Weekend engagement tonight, June 27 to June 29, 2013.

Julien Schwab's critically acclaimed, mind-bending comedy rogerandtom is back by popular demand and begins previews Saturday, July 6th. The play, which moves to HERE's Main Stage (145 Sixth Avenue - enter on Dominick) for an extended summer engagement opens Saturday, July 13th. Presented by Personal Space Theatrics, rogerandtom will continue for a limited run through Saturday, August 24th. The play is directed by Nicholas Cotz, the company's artistic director. Horse Trade Theater Group will present Less Than Rent Theatre's World Premiere of Ben Diserens' BECKETT IN BENGHAZI, July 25-August 10 at UNDER St. Marks (94 St. Marks Place). The production will be directed by James Presson (FringeNYC Award Winner for Directing in 2010) and feature Julie Voshell (Movin' Out; Pop), Becca Ballenger (American Stare), Adam Weppler (Waiting for Lefty with Roundabout; Puppet Hamlet), Rachel B. Joyce (Muskego Lake, Desire! A Varsouviana), Brendan McDonough (Three Sisters with The Assembly), and Patrick Dooley (Words, Razors, and the Wounded Heart). Designs will feature sets by Dan Geggatt (Asuncion; Billy Witch), costumes by Jenni Meador, sound by Emily Auciello (The Dance and the Railroad at Signature Center), choreography by Jennifer Delac, and fight design by Cory Asinofsky (Richard 3).

'Fire. Water. Night' by Yara Arts Group adapts spring and summer rituals into a World Music Theater piece that moves throughout the lobby, risers and playing areas of La MaMa's Ellen Stewart Theatre, reveling in the imagery of the spring thaw, of awakening forests and of midsummer fire rituals. The work, conceived and directed by Virlana Tkacz, interweaves performances in English and Ukrainian, including fragments of Lesya Ukrainka's verse drama, 'Forest Song,' poetry from Native American, Canadian and American authors, dance and song. It features a score by electronic music composer Alla Zagaykevych, traditional ritual songs from Ukraine and raucous dance music by Toronto's Lemon Bucket Orkestra. La Mama E.T.C. will present the work tonight, June 7 to 16. The experience is highly visual and musical and is completely accessible to all audiences.

La MaMa, in association with Crossing Jamaica Avenue, presents the New York Premiere of the acclaimed Deadly She-Wolf Assassin at Armageddon!, featuring original music and a concept by Fred Ho, co-written by Fred Ho and Ruth Margraff, directed by Sonoko Kawahara, with martial arts choreography by Emmanuel Brown (Broadway's Spiderman) and Japanese sword fighting choreography by Yoshi Amao. The show runs now through June 2, 2013 at La MaMa's Ellen Stewart Theatre, located at 66 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue & the Bowery. The show opens tonight, May 18 opening at 7:30pm. FALSE SOLUTION, a world-premiere play about an architect's struggle to design a Holocaust museum in Poland, written and directed by Oren Safdie, will be presented Off-Broadway with previews starting Thursday, June 13, 2013 (prior to an official press opening night on June 16th) at La MaMa (74A East 4th Street) in Manhattan. The production runs through Sunday, June 30.
