DALLAS BUYERS CLUB, currently in post-production, has been acquired by Focus Features for domestic theatrical release in the second half of 2013. The company has also acquired Latin American rights to the feature.

Chris Mohr's music drama will receive its first workshop production in New York City on May 2nd and 3rd, 2013 at the historic Theatre at the Riverside Church under the artistic direction of director/choreographer Jeremy Williams. Williams is creating the original staging and choreography in collaboration with the cast and production team as a dance-theatre spectacle. Set to the 1998 recording by the National Symphony and Chorus of Ukraine the workshop explores the story of Mohr's epic tale through movement, dance, and physical acting.

Martell Foundation for leukemia, cancer and AIDS Research has announced NBC's Jenna Wolfe as host of this year's Women of Influence Awards to be held Tuesday, May 7th, 2013 at Riverpark, a Tom Colicchio restaurant in New York City. Riverpark is located at 450 East 29th Street. A reception and silent auction will take place from 11:45am - 12:30pm. The awards and lunch will be from 12:30pm - 2pm. Singer/songwriter Elle Varner will perform at the highly anticipated event. The awards celebration and luncheon will honor five outstanding women who have achieved tremendous goals in business while balancing work, home and health.

Seattle Opera's 2012/13 season concludes in May with a double bill of compelling twentieth-century operas, both new to the company: La Voix Humaine, by Francis Poulenc, and Giacomo Puccini's Suor Angelica. Both these one-act operas follow fascinating women who must grapple with despair as they meet their fate; but the two works, like the composers who created them, are extremely different. In Poulenc's sensual monodrama, a woman stumbles through a minefield of emotions as she attempts to stay connected to her ex-lover over the telephone. Puccini's mystical tragedy tells the story of a young nun who learns of the death of the son she was forced to abandon. She kills herself yet miraculously passes into a state of grace. Performances begin on May 4 and run through May 18.

Full casting has been announced for the Orange County engagement of FLASHDANCE - THE MUSICAL, the stage adaptation of the 1983 hit film that defined a generation. Joining Jillian Mueller as Alex and Matthew Hydzik as Nick are Katie Webber as Tess, Kelly Felthous as Gloria, DeQuina Moore as Kiki, Jo Ann Cunningham as Hannah, David R. All seven designers were purchased by the retailers with a total commitment of $775,000 -- however in a competitive twist, only the pair with the highest total sales was given immunity and everyone else was up for elimination.
