San Jose Stage Company hosts the 2013 Bay Area High School Musical Theatre Stage Top Honor Awards tonight, June 3.

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater presents its fourth annual TheaterJam, a one-day festival featuring the work of many of the company's favorite playwrights, actors and directors. The brainchild of playwright Dael Orlandersmith, the all-day event will take place at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater (224 Waverly Place - off Seventh Avenue South between West 11th & Perry Streets) tonight, June 2nd.

Come on along and listen to the lullaby of Broadway at the Barn Theatre! The glamour, spectacle, and fashion of 1930s Broadway comes to the Barn in 42ND STREET June 11 through 23.

Doors will open at 1:30pm. There is a $10 suggested admission charge (cash only) for all day entry - and includes one free beer. There will be a raffle drawing for amazing prizes. Patrons are free to come and go as they please and attend any - or all-of the festival's many offerings. All proceeds will benefit Rattlestick's upcoming 2013-14 season.

The Community Theatre of Little Rock is pleased to close out its 57th season with its Summer Musical 'Legally Blonde: The Musical' by Heather Hach, Laurence O'Keefe, and Nell Benjamin. Show dates are July 12th, 13th, 19th, 20th, 26th and 27th at 7:30 pm and July 14th, 21st and 28th at 2pm, to be held at the PUBLIC Theatre, located at 616 Center Street, next to Horn's Men's Store in downtown Little Rock.

My mother in law, Rebecca, and I were talking about this thing we are calling 'the post-show happy buzz'. It keeps the audiences coming back with that indescribable 'I just love theatre' feeling. It keeps producers investing, marketing, promoting even when it may be risky. It's the silent but mutual agreement that what we are creating, seeing, experiencing is real and connecting us all when it's very easy to feel disconnected. That we can laugh together, confer on topics normally untouched, and shamelessly lavish ourselves in song and dance for the sake of itself. And in this world of joyful theatrical drunkenness, we take all kinds! It's a big ol' open invitation to humanity. I mean, the fact that I was at the doctors office the other day and the quirky consulting physician went from talking to me about the whooping cough vaccine to how much he and his wife are wild about seeing shows should be indication enough. He spoke to me longer about Phantom of the Opera then about my ear infection. (Side note: he also said I was a spitting image for Mindy from 'Mork and Mindy'. I really don't see it. I did say he was quirky...)

The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre's 2013 Season is the year Broadway and Hollywood meet with all of the productions at the theatre being hits both on the silver screen and Great White Way. The season kicked off with the funny and heartwarming Steel Magnolias, followed by Dolly Parton's 9 to 5 - The Musical. Florida Rep's Education Department has announced the opening of the hit Broadway Musical, LEGALLY BLONDE.

Legally Blonde opened in Melbourne to a standing ovation that was well deserved for a particularly talented cast . This production is slick. From beginning to end it has everything a musical comedy needs. It's light, camp and fun with a clever score from Laurence O'keefe and Nell Benjamin that combines humorous lyric with catchy vibrant melodies.

In the season finale episode of NBC's "Fashion Star" (Friday, May 10, 8-9 p.m. ET), contestants Hunter Bell, Cassandra Hobbins and Daniel Silverstein were challenged to create a capsule collection for all three retailers. After weeks of hard work, the remaining contestants gave everything they had for a chance to be crowned "Fashion Star." Ultimately, the buyers chose designer Hunter Bell as the next "Fashion Star." Her winning capsule collections will be carried online at Macy's, Saks Fifth Avenue and Express and in 50 Macy's locations and 15 Express locations nationwide.
