Pete Seeger, a master of vocals, banjo, and guitar and well known for influencing the development of folk music and for his continued commitment to social justice, peace and environmental issues, is the recipient of the first Phoebe Jacobs Award of Distinction which will be presented by Beth Israel Medical Center's Louis Armstrong Center for Music & Medicine at its 8th Annual What A Wonderful World event on Monday, September 23rd.

The Kennedy Center hosts its 12th annual Page-to-Stage new play festival from Saturday, August, 31 to Monday, September 2, 2013, featuring more than 40 theaters from the D.C. metropolitan area, all with a mission to produce and support new work. The three-day, Center-wide event offers a series of free readings and open rehearsals of plays and musicals being developed by local, regional, and national playwrights, librettists, and composers. Dynamic contemporary dance company BODYTRAFFIC makes its Jacob's Pillow debut today, July 31- August 4 in the Doris Duke Theatre.

ODC Theater will present Los Angeles-based repertory dance company, BODYTRAFFIC, in the Bay Area premiere of works by Barak Marshall andRichard Siegel, as well as in a preview of new work by Kyle Abraham. Named among DanceMagazine's '25 to Watch' in 2013, the company commissions new chamber works from two to three choreographers a year, and has earned praise for its 'confident, hard-hitting' (LA Weekly) execution in a wide range of styles.

Critically-acclaimed jazz phenom Cecile McLorin Salvant will perform two concerts at Westchester'sThe Stage at Rockwells on Friday, August 23 at 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. McLorin Salvant comes to The Stage at Rockwells in celebration of her much buzzed about Mack Avenue Records debut, WOMANCHILD. The 23-year old virtuoso, known for her astounding vocal range and riveting performances, won the prestigious Thelonious Monk International Jazz Vocals Competition in 2010.

McCarter Theatre Center is pleased to announce its 2013-2014 roster of world-renowned artists on its 2013-14 Presenting Series. During the upcoming season, McCarter will present over 40 performances by world-class performing artists curated by Special Programming Director William W. Lockwood. After Midnight will reintroduce this exciting tradition by presenting stars of today in limited engagement appearances throughout the musical's run. Grammy Award-winning recording artist Fantasia, who was last seen on Broadway in her stunning and universally praised star turn in The Color Purple, has been confirmed to kick off the excitement as the first such guest star in After Midnight.

Today, this veteran of major jazz festivals from Montreux, Switzerland, to the Newport Jazz Festival in New York City, is also carving out his own niche as founder and leader of The Dave Stahl Big Band. The master musician's signature assembly of seasoned musicians will be performing at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, at the Sharadin Bigler Theatre, home of the Ephrata Performing Arts Center.
