LPTW Announces New Play Festival Lineup at New World Stages, 3/7

On March 7, 2011 at 8p.m. The League of Professional Theatre Women (LPTW) is pleased to present their annual New Play Festival of works written and directed by women, produced by DeVida Jenkins and Rachel Reiner. Featuring star-studded casts, a diverse group of both celebrated and emerging playwrights, a team of professional directors, and an accomplished design team, this year's New Play Festival will perform for one-night-only at New World Stages (340 West 50th St., NYC). The festival is presented in honor of Support Women Artists Now Day/SWAN Day (www.SwanDay.org), an annual celebration of the diversity, beauty and power of women's creativity. Proceeds from the festival will benefit the League of Professional Theatre Women, in its mission of promoting visibility and increasing opportunities for women in the professional theatre.

Broadway and Off-Broadway producer Ken Davenport (author of the popular blog, The Producer's Perspective) will present Bingo! as the third selection in THE DAVENPORT DEVELOPMENTAL READING SERIES, four readings of new works (plays and/or musicals), on Monday, September 13th at Urban Stages Theater (259 West 30th Street, NYC): Ian Kennedy's Bingo! Directed by Daniel Goldstein.

Geva Premiere SPLITTING INFINITY Wins National Award

The Francesca Ronnie Primus Foundation and the American Theatre Critics Association have just announced that the 2009 Francesca Primus Prize has been awarded to Jamie Pachino for her play, Splitting Infinity - a haunting and evocative play about the mysteries of the universe and the road not taken.

Broadway Drama 'Honour' Opens Gulfshore Playhouse Season

Broadway veteran Allen Fitzpatrick ('Les Miserables', 'Sweet Smell of Success', 'Damn Yankees', 'Passion', 'The Scarlet Pimpernel', '42nd Street') will star as Gus. Broadway, Off-Broadway and television actress Elizabeth Hess ('M Butterfly', 'Beggars in the House of Plenty' and television's 'Law and Order' and 'Clarissa Explains it All') will portray Honor, the central character of this drama. Jessica Rothert, who will appear as Sophie and Heidi-Marie Ferren, who portrays Claudia, will round out the cast.

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey Presents THE GRAPES OF WRATH, 10/21-11/15

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey continues its fall season with the epic masterpiece The Grapes of Wrath by Frank Galati, from the novel by John Steinbeck. The production is directed by Joe Discher, who directed the critically acclaimed Shakespeare Theatre production of Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men in 2004. The Tony Award-winning The Grapes of Wrath begins performances on October 21 and continues through November 15 at the Shakespeare Theatre Main Stage.

Splitting Infinity: The Genesis of a World Premiere Play

When a high mass star reaches its supernova explosion, the result is either a shower of stardust that creates new light, or a black hole that consumes everything in its wake. Such is one of the main metaphors of Splitting Infinity by award-winning playwright and screenwriter Jamie Pachino, which currently having its world premiere at Geva Theatre Center in Rochester, New York.
