LA STAGE Alliance has announced this year's LA Stage Talks, a series of panel discussions moderated by LA STAGE Alliance CEO Terence McFarland, exploring various aspects of the creation of performing arts in the Southern California region. The premiere event, co-hosted by Southern California Public Radio KPCC, will take place on Tuesday, March 19 from 7:00-8:30pm, at the Crawford Family Forum in Pasadena.

TimeLine Announces 2013-14 Season

TimeLine Theatre Company, dedicated to presenting plays inspired by history that connect to today's social and political issues, announces its four-play 2013-14 season: Lorraine Hansberry's classic drama set in Chicago A RAISIN IN THE SUN, directed by Ron OJ Parson; Larry Kramer's Tony Award-winning Broadway play THE NORMAL HEART, directed by TimeLine Associate Artistic Director Nick Bowling; a third play to be announced; and the Chicago premiere of the musical JUNO, with book by Joseph Stein, music and lyrics by Marc Blitzstein, based on the classic Irish play Juno and the Paycock by Sean O'Casey, directed by Nick Bowling with musical direction by Doug Peck and Elizabeth Doran.

The Pasadena Playhouse (Sheldon Epps, Artistic Director and Elizabeth Doran Executive Director), announced today that a "SHAMROCK-N-ROLL at The Playhouse" community Saint Patrick's Day concert event will celebrate the opening of ONE NIGHT WITH JANIS JOPLIN on Sunday, March 17, from 1:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m on El Molino Avenue in front of the theatre.

Sheldon Epps to Take Over For Lonny Price as Director for SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE Musical at Pasadena Playhouse

The Pasadena Playhouse (Sheldon Epps, Artistic Director and Elizabeth Doran, Executive Director), in association with David Shor Productions, announced today that the world premiere of SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE - THE MUSICAL will now be directed by Artistic Director Sheldon Epps and is scheduled to perform May 24 - June 23, 2013, with a press opening night on June 2, at 5:00 p.m. Lonny Price was previously announced to helm The Playhouse production, however, other commitments have not allowed him to continue with this engagement. A developmental workshop is also scheduled to take place in early March. Tickets are currently available with a 2012 - 2013 season subscription purchase. Single tickets will go on sale at a later date.

Hailed by critics in Cleveland as a "feel-good, fist-pumping, must-see" show, ONE NIGHT WITH JANIS JOPLIN has left audiences clamoring for tickets in Portland, Cleveland and Washington D.C. Now coming to The Pasadena Playhouse in celebration of the Los Angeles area's great rock 'n' roll history, performances will run from March 15 through April 11, with a press opening night on March 17, 2013, at 5:00 p.m.

Pasadena Playhouse Makes Staff Announcements

Sheila Grether-Marion, Chair of The Pasadena Playhouse Board of Directors, made three important announcements today. Elizabeth Doran, currently the Managing Director of The Actor's Gang, will join The Playhouse as its new Executive Director on September 17. Artistic Director Sheldon Epps has renewed his contract to remain as The Playhouse's long-term Artistic Director as he enters his 16th season. And The Playhouse successfully achieved a $250,000 challenge grant with $750,000 in matched funds.
