Miro Magloire's New Chamber Ballet will continue its 2018-19 season with two world premieres: New Ballet I by guest choreographer Gabrielle Lamb to music by Missy Mazzoli, and New Ballet II by Magloire, to music by Schubert (titles later!). Completing the program are Magloire's Feel Your Fall, to music by composer Wolfgang Rihm, premiered at the September performances, and Two Friends to Debussy. As always, Magloire's superb musicians are called upon to perform compositions that range from the impressionist Debussy to the contemporary sounds of Rihm.

Copland House announces six Fellows selected to participate in CULTIVATE 2018, its acclaimed, annual emerging composers institute. The composers chosen areCarlos Bandera, 25 (Baltimore, MD); Ethan Braun, 30 (Tarzana, CA); Theo Chandler, 25 (Hillsborough, NC); Annika Socolofsky, 27 (Princeton, NJ); Phil Taylor, 28 (Boulder, CO); Liliya Ugay, 27 (New Haven, CT). Ugay was named CULTIVATE's Nashville Symphony ComposerLab Fellow, in connection with Copland House's collaboration with the orchestra's young composer initiative. Bret Bohman, 35 (Columbia, MO) was selected as an Alternate.

American Composers Orchestra Announces 2017-2018 Emerging Composers

American Composers Orchestra continues its commitment to the creation and development of new orchestral music with the announcement of sixteen emerging composers who will participate in its catalytic programs. Six emerging composers will participate in the 27th Annual Underwood New Music Readings on June 21-22, 2018 at a location to be announced. Ten emerging composers receive 2018 EarShot New Music Readings presented by Fort Wayne Philharmonic (February 7, 2018), Charlotte Symphony Orchestra (March 1, 2018), and Jacksonville Symphony (April 20, 2018). EarShot is a partnership between American Composers Orchestra, League of American Orchestras, American Composers Forum, and New Music USA.

Miro Magloire's New Chamber Ballet returns to its home base of City Center Studio 5 with performances November 3 & 4 at 8 PM. 'Snow White' is a favorite fairy tale for youngsters who become enchanted by the story of the beautiful young girl who meets up with seven little people in the forest. The Media Theatre has a new musical version of the story playing every Sunday at Noon from October 1 through November 5.
