Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts announces the 2012 Wolf Trap Ball, the organization's largest annual fundraising event, set to commence Saturday, September 15 on the Filene Center stage at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts.
On July 28, 2012 - National Dance Day - the U.S. Postal Service® will pay tribute to four influential choreographers who changed the art of dance: Isadora Duncan, Jose Limon, Katherine Dunham, and Bob Fosse. Designed to look like posters advertising a performance, the stamp art captures the luminosity and mystery of a live dance performance. The stamp design for Isadora Duncan reflects her interest in classical Greek dance forms and shows the seemingly effortless style that she developed. Radical for its time, her linking of movement and expressiveness garnered her worldwide critical acclaim.
For the second year in a row, Nashville Ballet will serve as Nashville's official location of National Dance Day on Saturday, July 28, by offering free sample classes and choreography provided by Fox hit realty show So You Think You Can Dance (SYTYCD).

This year's Will on the Hill is marked by a performance of Speak the Speech, I Pray You!, an original play by Peter Byrne with assistance from The West Wing Writers Group. Will on the Hill takes place tonight, May 7, 2012, in Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW). The evening begins with a VIP cocktail reception at 6:30 p.m., followed by the performance at 7:30 p.m. and a buffet dinner at 8:30 p.m.
