The York Symphony Orchestra will present Celtic Celebration on Saturday, March 10 at 7:30 p.m. at the Appell Center for the Performing Arts in York. The performance will feature special guest soloist, Jerry O'Sullivan, who is widely hailed as America's premier uilleann piper. On Saturday, January 20, the Bickford Theatre of Morristown will present the son of a jazz legend who has become a musical star in his own right. Dave Brubeck's son Chris Brubeck will perform with his group Triple Play whose good-time music draws on folk, blues, and jazz.

The renowned Newman & Oltman Guitar Duo, who is celebrating 40 years of performing together, will appear at Symphony Space on Friday, January 19 at 7:30 PM. The concert, presented by The New York City Classical Guitar Society, will feature works by Bogdanovic, Nicolai (arr. Bach), Milano, Rodrigo, Rossini (arr. Varlet), Liebermann and Albeniz. In recognition of Newman & Oltman's 40th anniversary of music making, they were featured in a piece about them and appeared on the cover of Classical Guitar's current winter edition. Tickets are $30.00, Seniors/students (with ID) $25.00, children $20.00.

After opening to rave reviews in Dublin, Ireland, FIND YOUR WAY HOME (An Irish Musical) is making its American debut. Written by Jeff Strange and Jimmy Kelly, two Albany, NY musicians well known on the Irish Music scene, the show has been in development for the past eight years.

At the Mezzanine Theatre at the A.R.T./New York Theatres (502 W 53rd Street), Soho Rep. is pleased to present the world premiere of Richard Maxwell's Samara, commissioned by Artistic Director Sarah Benson. In a departure, Maxwell, who has directed nearly all 20 of his plays, is handing over the directorial duties to Benson. Maxwell's work was seen previously at Soho Rep. in 2001 with Cavemen and in 1999 with Cowboys and Indians.

In celebration of Mannes' centennial year, Michael Newman and Laura Oltman will perform works by composers associated with Mannes which include Aaron Copland, Clarice Assad, as well as current composition faculty members Paul Moravec, Lowell Liebermann, David Loeb and Robert Cuckson.

Building on its first season that featured David Mamet and a re-envisioning of his play The Anarchist; Comedian Jim Gaffigan; speaker Michael Bloomberg; a panel discussion on Netflix's Daredevil with Marvel TV; red carpet screenings and an extended run of the hit play Universal Robots by Mac Rogers, the Sheen Center continues its excellence in diverse programming.

The season features more than 50 performances and community and student engagement events, ranging from popular, classical and contemporary music to dance, theater, children's musical theater and a unique cine-concert experience screening a beloved animated classic to a live performance of the Oscar nominated film score.

Brazilian composer and guitarist Sergio Assad and his daughter, pianist and vocalist Clarice Assad will join the Duo in works by the Assads, Milton Nascimento, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Celso Machado, Alfonso Montes & Irina Kircher, Carlos Lyra, and Gilberto Gil. The concert will be held at 7:30pm at Tishman Auditorium at University Center, 63 Fifth Ave., corner of 13th St.  Michael Newman and Laura Oltman are the founders and artistic directors of the seminar (www.mannesguitar.com) which takes place July 6 - July 11, 2016.  Concert tickets are $25.00; $15.00 for students/seniors.

The Board of ArtsRock has announced that Elliott Forrest, Artistic Director of the organization from its inception in 2008 will become the non-profit's first Executive Director starting July 1, 2016. Forrest will remain as Artistic Director in addition to his new role for ArtsRock who served over 2,000 audience members during their 2015-2016 Winter/Spring Season. Offering residents in and around Rockland County access to professional arts and multi-cultural programs all at reasonable ticket prices.
