SASHA DE SOLA, soloist of the San Francisco Ballet, and TIIT HELIMETS, principal dancer of the San Francisco Ballet, will appear as guest artists in a collaborative performance co-presented by the Allen Civic Ballet and the Allen Philharmonic. Terence Marling, Director of Hubbard Street 2 (HS2) and Hubbard Street Artistic Director Glenn Edgerton announce today the two winners of the 14th annual National Choreographic Competition (NCC), a program of Hubbard Street Dance Chicago's Choreographic Development Initiative. 2013 winners Loni Landon of New York City and Alex Soares of São Paulo, Brazil, will each create an original work in fall 2013 while in residence at Chicago's Hubbard Street Dance Center. Both new works receive their world premieres in early 2014, at the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts in Bloomington, Illinois.

From March 7-17, 2013, Houston Ballet will present The Rite of Spring, a program of premieres featuring three exciting 21st century choreographers and honoring the centenary of the premiere of Igor Stravinsky and Vaslav Nijinsky's landmark work. The company will unveil the world premiere of Stanton Welch's The Rite of Spring. A world premiere by internationally renowned choreographer Edwaard Liang to music by the Italian composer Ezio Bosso and a Houston Ballet premiere of Mark Morris's Pacific round out the program.
