Colorado Ballet will close its 2013-2014 season with Ballet Director's Choice, March 28-30, 2014 at the Newman Center for the Performing Arts at the University of Denver. This production will feature three contemporary works including Traveling Alone, choreographed by Amy Seiwert, Feast of the Gods, choreographed by Edwaard Liang, and the world premiere of The Last Beat, choreographed by Sandra Brown.

"Ballet Director's Choice will leave any dance audience amazed," said Gil Boggs, Colorado Ballet Artistic Director. "Aside from the visually stunning choreography, each ballet will be accompanied by a unique musical piece. This is what Ballet Director's Choice is all about; a performance of just pure dance and music."

Seiwert is a choreographer and the artistic director of the contemporary ballet company Imagery. She is also Choreographer in Residence for Smuin Ballet and was named one of "25 to Watch" by Dance Magazine in 2005. Traveling Alone will feature music by contemporary artist Max Richter, whose work embraces a wide range of influences. Richter's music has also been used by several filmmakers and was incorporated in the 2010 film Shutter Island.

"Between the collaboration of Seiwert's vision and the beautifully dynamic strength of Colorado Ballet's dancers, Traveling Alone will be a very emotional and courageous exhibition that you will not want to miss," said Boggs.

Liang won the Prince Prize for Choreography and was nominated for the Golden Mask Award in Russia for Best Production. Colorado Ballet's dancers will perform Feast of the Gods to music by Italian composer Ottorino Respighi, who is best known for his orchestral music.

Brown choreographed the closing performance for the Ballet Director's Choice, The Last Beat. A former soloist dancer for American Ballet Theater, Brown is currently a Ballet Mistress for Colorado Ballet. For several years, she has choreographed for the Bal de Ballet, an event hosted by the Denver Ballet Guild. She has also assisted with choreographing and staging multiple productions for Colorado Ballet and has created several original ballets.

Ticket prices range from $25 to $155. To purchase tickets, visit www.ColoradoBallet.org or call 303-837-8888 ext. 2.
