Kansas City Ballet today announced the 2014-2015 season. The 57thseason will commence with the Kansas City Premiere of Alice (in wonderland), choreography by Septime Webre and music by Matthew Pierce. Following the holiday classic The Nutcracker, the Winter program will feature the stunning all new production of Giselle by Kansas City Ballet Artistic Director Devon Carney and an electrifyingDances Daring-Then and Now program with PREMIERES by choreographer Amy Seiwert and Edwaard Liang finishing out the 2014-2015 season.

Artistic Director Devon Carney said: "I wanted my first season to represent the broadest range of dance possible, one that both included current, exciting full-length ballets, as well as an ever-popular classical work, among others. Our dancers have shown me they are ready for more challenging work and I am thrilled to show Kansas City audiences what our Company is capable of."

"This season that begins in October marks the first full performance year that will have the unmistakable imprint of our new Artistic Director Devon Carney," Executive Director Jeffrey J. Bentley stated. "This is precisely the depth, breadth and variety that we expected when Devon became the successful candidate to assume artistic leadership of Kansas City Ballet. He has a background in and a predisposition for the grand classical tradition as well as a dedication to producing and nurturing next generational voices in choreography. I think our audiences will be thrilled with the fare being presented on the Kauffman Center stage as well as at the Todd Bolender Center.

The entire 2014-2015 season will be accompanied by the Kansas City Symphony, conducted by renowned Kansas City Music Director Ramona Pansegrau.
