Noche Flamenca, the renowned company founded by Artistic Director Mart n Santangelo and dancer Soledad Barrio, continues, 25 years into its existence, both to mine the fundamentals of the genre and to stretch beyond tradition into other canons and forms, as in the company's recent, internationally acclaimed Antigona, an adaptation of Sophocles' Antigone. Noche Flamenca comes to New York City's Connelly Theater with Entre T y Yo (Between You and Me), an evening-length program of duets, solos, and ensemble works exploring the constraints imposed and the possibilities afforded by human relationships.

The Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDCF) has named Oskar Eustis as the first recipient of its new honor, The Gordon Davidson Award, which will be bestowed annually by SDCF to recognize a director or choreographer for lifetime achievement and distinguished service in the regional theatre nationally. John Farmanesh-Bocca directs the world premiere of a bracing new version of Eduardo Machado's LYSISTRATA UNBOUND, starring Brenda Strong (Supergirl, 13 Reasons Why) as Lysistrata, in a collaboration between Odyssey Theatre Ensemble and Not Man Apart - Physical Theatre Ensemble. First presented at the Getty Villa as part of its 2013 Lab Series, it was inspired by American anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan's efforts for peace following the death of her son in Iraq.
