Myriam Phiro, a NYC-based french songstress wrote a cabaret show celebrating Edith Piaf's centennial. After performing it at 54 Below, the Metropolitan Room, the Iridium & Drom, she is inviting you to a very special performance of it at the Metropolitan Room on March 3rd (9.30pm). In the context of a MAC Awards nomination for her latest album 'Voyages' in the 'Best 2015 recording' category, she put together a 'for your consideration' rendition of her 'Piaf at 100' show with an added snippet of her her latest Jazz album. A not-to-be-missed event!

Grammy-nominated, internationally acclaimed artist Ute Lemper's collaboration with renowned best-selling author Paulo Coelho, The 9 Secrets, is available now via Steinway & Sons. In celebration, Lemper will perform the piece in its entirety in a fully staged production at Symphony Space in New York City on May 13, tickets and information here.

song cycle composed and sung by Lemper, set to words by Coelho from his 2012 novel Manuscript Found in Accra, the thematic content of which may be encapsulated in the lines, “After lying undiscovered for over 700 years, a manuscript holding the answers to questions about life and humanity is unearthed. / Simple questions about our lives torn between happiness and sorrow and defined by hope, intelligence and desire to love as much as the capacity to hate and destroy.” Coelho himself is featured on two tracks—see below for track list. After successful performances of her debut cabaret show at 54 Below, the Metropolitan Room and Drom, Ms. Phiro, accompanied by a traditional musette band and multi-disciplinary backup singers, will recreate the brothels, circuses and nightclubs that created the great Piaf we all know, this time at the Iridium.

The Show celebrates the centenary of French music's ultimate grande dame, bringing to life her extraordinary career and character, and above all the voice and the songs, featuring 'La Vie en Rose', 'L'Hymne a L'Amour', 'Milord' and of course 'Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien' - with which she triumphed over adversity.
