According to Deadline, Eddie Murphy is about to return to the screen for the first time in awhile, in a Netflix film which begins production June 12 about the life of Rudy Ray Moore, the star of the blaxploitation Dolemite films. Hustle and Flow's Craig Brewer is directing a script by Scott Alexander & Larry Karaszewski, the writing team behind such quirky biographical films as Big Eyes, Ed Wood and The People Vs. Larry Flynt.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Yoson An, from New Zealand, will play Chen Honghui in Disney's live-action movie.

Dreamgirls, which opened in December 2016 at the Savoy Theatre to widespread critical acclaim, will give its final performance on Saturday 12th January 2019, completing a run of more than two years. Details for a forthcoming UK tour will be announced in due course.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts will present the 21st annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor to Julia Louis-Dreyfus on Sunday, October 21, 2018 in the Kennedy Center Concert Hall. It has been reported that Rogue One star Donnie Yen has been cast in Disney's upcoming live-action reboot of the hit animated film Mulan. Yen is set to portray a character named Commander Tung, who will act as a mentor to Mulan when she joins the Chinese Army,
