Ed Sheeran Unveils 2013 Tour - Radio City, Hollywood Palladium & More

Elektra recording artist Ed Sheeran has announced plans for his biggest U.S. headline tour to date. The 2013 trek gets underway January 17th at Houston's House of Blues and then continues through mid-February (see itinerary below). Among the tour's highlights are shows at some of America's most renowned venues, including Sheeran's debut performance on the Great Stage of New York's world famous Radio City Music Hall, set for January 30th.

It is sometimes referred to as the "San Francisco Exodus of 1858" a little-known part of the City's history in which hundreds of African Americans fled discrimination and the threat of slavery for the safety of a Canadian exile. Choreographer Joanna Haigood and her Zaccho Dance Theatre (www.zaccho.org) are marking the iconic event with free public performances of her powerful work Sailing Away. Performances will be given in three continuous cycles today, September 13, 14, 15, and 16 at 12noon, 1:30pm and 3pm daily starting at Market Street and Powell.

The Hunter College East Harlem Art Gallery will present Picturing Puerto Rico under the American Flag: The Photographs of Louise Rosskam, 1937- 1948 from May 11th - July 21st. This exhibition features the work of Louise Rosskam (1910- 2003), an elusive pioneer of the golden age of 20th century American documentary photography. The exhibition highlights her images - the photographs she created on the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico in the New Deal and post-World War II eras. The gallery is located in Hunter College's Lois V. and Samuel Silberman School of Social Work building at 2180 Third Avenue at 119th Street, Manhattan.
