William Peace Theatre opens its 2016-17 season with the beloved Broadway musical, Kiss Me, Kate.  The show runs two weeks, October 20-22 and 28-29 at Kenan Auditorium on the William Peace University Campus in downtown Raleigh.

Amelia Community Theatre has just opened a touching production of the Tony and Drama Desk Award-winning play which became a critically-acclaimed film two years later starring Katharine Hepburn and the father-and-daughter team of Henry and Jane Fonda. Helmed by veteran director Toni D'Amico, ACT's trip to Golden Pond is a lovely, welcoming experience that effectively balances both sides of this bittersweet comedy-drama.

Three productions inspired by William Shakespeare make up Welsh National Opera's Autumn season, which will comprise a British premiere and two new productions.  The season is part of the official Shakespeare 400 celebrations to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the great bard's death whilst continuing WNO Artistic Director David Pountney's creative approach to themed seasons.

Wrapping up the wildly successful 42nd Season of Dunwoody's very own professional theatre, STAGE DOOR PLAYERS produces the musical comedy, "show within a show", Kiss Me, Kate, music and lyrics by Cole Porter, book by Sam and Bella Spewack. Alan Kilpatrick directs, Nick Silvestri is the music director, and Jen MacQueen choreographs. The show opens on Friday, July 15, and runs through Sunday, August 7. To celebrate its 20-year milestone, the 2015 Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Awards will be broadcast live online and available on HomeTowne Television.

?The Old Globe and Hartford Stage's co-production of Kiss Me, Kate, the classic musical comedy featuring a book by Sam and Bella Spewack and an iconic score by Cole Porter, will be choreographed by Peggy Hickey and directed by Hartford Stage Artistic Director and former Old Globe Shakespeare Festival Artistic Director Darko Tresnjak, who won the 2014 Tony Award for Best Direction of a Musical for A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, which made its world premiere at The Old Globe and Hartford Stage in 2013. Vision, Faith, & Desire II: Dancemakers Inspired by Martha Graham will be co-presented by Winifred Haun & Dancers and the Department of Cultural Affairs & Special Events February 6-8 at the Pritzker Pavilion, in doors on the stage.
