Patti LuPone, the winner of three Drama Desk Awards as Outstanding Actress in A Musical for her performances in Evita (1980), Anything Goes 1988) and Gypsy (2008), will host this year's 55th Annual Drama Desk Awards ceremony on Sunday, May 23, 2010, at 9 PM, it was announced today by Robert R. Blume, Executive Producer of the annual awards show, and William Wolf, President of the Drama Desk.

THE ACTORS FUND will honor Tony Award Winner Brian Stokes Mitchell at their 14th Annual Tony Awards Party with the Julie Harris Award for Lifetime Achievement. The gala features the only live feed in Los Angeles of the Tony Awards as they happen in New York. There's nothing like the sound of laughter. There's the sound of children's laughter and the raucous laughter of friends having a good time. There's the laughter of a good prank, as well as the laugher of a shared secret. Yet one of the most special kinds of laughter is that of an audience who are wholeheartedly enjoying themselves at a live theatrical performance. Such is the case at the Theatre on 46th Street, where Rob Becker's DEFENDING THE CAVEMAN is playing to packed houses that are laughing profusely and having a rollicking good time. The original 1995 production starred its author, who was followed by television actor Michael Chiklis, as the sole performer on stage. It ran for two and a half years and earned a place in theatrical record books as the longest running solo play in Broadway's history. The current production is in the exceptionally capable hands of Paul Perroni, who guides the audience through astute observations of the on-going battle between the sexes.

Gordon Ramsay announced today that restaurateur wine maker Joe Bastianich and four-star chef Graham Elliot Bowles will join him as judges on MASTERCHEF, premiering Thursday, July 29 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Bastianich is a partner of Mario Batali and has established some of New York's most-celebrated restaurants, including Babbo Ristorante e Enoteca, Lupa Osteria Romana and Del Posto. Bowles is the youngest four-star chef in the U.S. and the mastermind behind Chicago's first 'bistronomic' restaurant, Graham Elliot. With Ramsay at the helm of the competition, Bastianich and Bowles will coach and judge the contestants along the way.

Lainie Kazan and Brian Stokes Mitchell are set to guest on the 'Fire and Nice' episode of Ugly Betty. Lainie Kazanwill guest as Dina Talercio, and Brian Stokes Mitchell will guest as Don Jones. The show will also feature Rich Sommer as Jimmy Wilson, Alec Mapa as Suzuki St. Pierre, Neal Bledsoe as Tyler and Nestor Serrano as Anthony Talercio, with Adam Rodriguez as Bobby Talercio.
