Following the success of the previous two festivals, the 3rd Annual New York Hot Jazz Festival -- produced by the impresario Michael 'Misha' Katsobashvili, performer Bria Skonberg, and composer/producer Patrick Soluri (of Prohibition Productions and The Salon) -- returns to The Players this year and promises some of the biggest stars of the Hot Jazz and swing scenes in a summit of uptown and downtown talent spanning three generations.

According to Deadline, PRIVATE PRACTICE star KaDee Strickland will play the lead role in CBS's upcoming DOUBT pilot.

Deadline writes that PSYCH's Dule Hill will co-star in CBS's DOUBT pilot. Also joining previously announced Laverne Cox is Kobi Lbii.

Cast members from THE WEST WING, including Bradley Whitford, Dule Hill, Richard Schiff, Joshua Malina, Allison Janney, Dule Hill and Mary McCormack, have partnered with The White House for a 'daylong engagement event on social media - inspired by President Andrew Jackson's 1837 open house featuring a 1,400 pound block of cheese.' Cartier Williams is a hoofer, choreographer, filmmaker and performer hailing from Washington, D.C. He began his tap dancing career at the age of four and has been active in the tap dance community ever since. Cartier is currently working on a project that will bring the joy of tap dance back into the lives of people across the world. He is the co-founder and artistic director of The Williams Davis Foundation for the Performing Arts, a nonprofit organization committed to bringing the joy of performing arts into the lives of people worldwide. Throughout his career, Cartier has had the opportunity to dance with a multitude of tap pioneers and masters, including Gregory Hines, Savion Glover, Peg Leg Bates, and the Nicholas Brothers. He has taught at Broadway Dance Center and American Tap Dance Foundation in NYC along with many other cities across the country and the world!

Summer Friday performances at 'Here Lies Love' at the Public Theatre always brings out some special VIP's and last week was no exception. Following yesterday's matinee, the cast and band of Broadway's After Midnight paraded to 47th and Broadway where West 47th Street was renamed 'DUKE ELLINGTON WAY' in an official Street Sign Unveiling Ceremony at the corner of 47th and Broadway. Musicians from the Jazz at Lincoln Center All-Stars (including Arthur Baron, one of the last surviving members from Ellington's orchestra) played two Ellington favorites for all of Times Square, in celebration.
