Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater to Perform in UK, Switzerland, Denmark, Today

(New York) – July 13, 2016 – Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, recognized by U.S. Congress as “a vital American cultural ambassador to the world,” returns to the United Kingdom, Lausanne, Switzerland, and Copenhagen, Denmark to perform a dozen ballets from September 6 – October 30. Robert Battle will lead Ailey through the UK (September 9 – October 19) for the first time since becoming Artistic Director, including the Company's inaugural visits to Southampton and Canterbury, England. Presented by Dance Consortium, the UK engagement will include 10 works performed across 10 cities. The Company will then head to the Salle Métropole in Lausanne (October 22 – 23) and The Tivoli Concert Hall in Copenhagen (October 26 – 30). Bank of America is the lead sponsor of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater's 2016 and 2017 international tours.
Fulton Theatre Promotes Artistic Director

The Fulton Theatre continues to experience unprecedented growth. Under the leadership and guidance of Artistic Director Marc Robin and Managing Director Aaron Young, the theatre's audience has increased from 60,000 to well over 130,000 and box office revenue has increased by 300%. The future is brighter than ever for the Lancaster and National treasure, as the Fulton makes plans for future expansion. Part of the expansion includes a reorganization of the Fulton administrative structure, redefining responsibilities throughout the organization. The role of Managing Director has been eliminated and will be replaced by a more focused financial position. The Fulton's Artistic Director, Marc Robin, has been promoted to Executive Artistic Producer and will lead the Fulton through its next phase of growth.

Weill Hall at Sonoma State University's Green Music Center (GMC) announces plans for the 2016-17 Fifth Anniversary Season Opening Weekend. The opening night performance Saturday, October 1, at 7:00 p.m., features the unparalleled kings of Jazz, Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis. A Gala Dinner will be held at Prelude Restaurant and Patio following the concert, with cuisine provided by Stark & Co. Catering.

The Music Institute of Chicago announces the 2016-17 season of its Faculty and Guest Artist Series, showcasing noteworthy keyboard artists, illustrious alumni, and the legacy of Louis Armstrong. All but one of the concerts take place at the historic Nichols Concert Hall, 1490 Chicago Avenue in downtown Evanston. In March, the Music Institute presents one special performance at its partner venue, Fourth Presbyterian Church, 126 E. Chestnut Street in downtown Chicago.

Last October the first Jaffa Jazz Festival took place in Israel, led by musician Amikam Kimelman who served as the director of Rimon School of Music for 24 years. The festival was a huge success even before its first musical note was played. This year, the festival will take place on September 15-17.
