THE LION KING comes to the San Diego Civic Theatre through October 2nd.

?Casting has been announced for the Dayton engagement of Disney's THE LION KING. Dayton's most eagerly awaited stage production ever will leap onto the Schuster stage from Tuesday, June 7 to Sunday, July 3. The press opening night is Wednesday, June 8 at 8 p.m.  The show's four-week premiere engagement in 2011 played a sold-out run at the Schuster Center.  

Based on the 1994 Disney animated film of the same name, The Lion King tells the story of Simba, a young lion who is supposed to succeed his father Mufasa, as King of Pride Rock. But when Simba's Uncle Scar kills Mufasa, Simba runs away from home after being tricked into thinking that he was responsible. As he comes of age, Simba learns some valuable perspective to go back and take his rightful place as King.

Broadway In Chicago is currently presenting the return engagement of DISNEY'S THE LION KING. The World's #1 Musical leap tonto the stage of the Cadillac Palace Theatre (151 W Randolph) on December 2, 2015, where it will continue through January 17, 2016. Heather Headley, the musical's original Nala on Broadway, attended Saturday night's performance, where she caught up with the tour's current Nala, Nia Holloway. Broadway In Chicago is pleased to announce casting for the return engagement of DISNEY'S THE LION KING. The World's #1 Musical will leap onto the stage of the Cadillac Palace Theatre (151 W Randolph) from December 2, 2015 to January 17, 2016.

The Denver return of Disney's THE LION KING opens tonight, Friday, November 6 at 7:30pm at The Buell Theatre for a limited engagement of four weeks through November 29.

The Orange County return of Disney's THE LION KING opens tonight, Thursday, October 8 at 7:30 p.m. in Segerstrom Hall for a limited engagement of four weeks through Sunday, November 1.

Broadway San Jose at the Center for the Performing Arts plays host to Disney's THE LION KING now through October 4 only. That's the most important thing you need to know because if you're one for keeping a bucket list of must-see things to do and see before you 'exit stage left,' then this show is surely one for the list. Directed into being by Julie Taymor, who infuses her creation with rich cultural beauty, soul-stirring African harmonies and life-sized, almost living, breathing animal puppets, THE LION KING will capture your heart as it surrounds your senses with laughter, magic and wonder.

The San Jose return of Disney's THE LION KING opens tonight, Thursday, September 10 at 7:30 p.m. at the Center for the Performing Arts for a limited four-week engagement through Sunday, October 4. In San Jose, THE LION KING plays Tuesday through Thursday evenings at 7:30 p.m.; Friday evenings at 8 p.m.; Saturdays at 2 and 8 p.m.; and Sundays at 1 and 6:30 p.m., with an additional matinee performance on Thursday, September 17 at 1 p.m.

It's only fair to start with a confession: I have purposely avoided seeing 'The Lion King' on stage for seventeen years. You see, when the Disney movie came out (1994) I was raising two small children. (If you need further explanation, ask any parent shepherding tots through Frozen Mania.)

The Memphis return of Disney's THE LION KING opens tonight, Thursday, February 5th at 7:30 PM at the Orpheum Theatre for a limited engagement of 4 weeks through Sunday, March 1st.

The Fort Lauderdale return of Disney's THE LION KING opens tonight, Friday, January 9 at 8:00 p.m. at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts for a limited engagement of four weeks through Sunday, February 1.

The Milwaukee return of Disney's THE LION KING opens tonight, Thursday, November 13 at 7:30 pm at the Milwaukee Theatre for a limited engagement of four weeks through Sunday, December 7. In Milwaukee, THE LION KING plays Tuesday through Thursday evenings at 7:30 pm, Fridays at 8:00 pm, Saturdays at 2:00 pm and 8:00 pm and Sundays at 1:00 pm and 6:30 pm. There will be special weekday matinee performances on Friday, November 28 at 2:00 pm and Thursday, December 4 at 2:00 pm. There will not be a performance on Thursday, November 27 (Thanksgiving). The show's five-week premiere engagement in 2008 played a sold-out run at the Milwaukee Theatre. 'Thus far sales have exceeded our expectations for the return of Lion King in Milwaukee, but there are still great seats available,' said Paul Mathews, President and CEO of the Marcus Center.

Not all memories of THE LION KING are good ones.

Tis good to be the queen. Few people know that more than Tryphena Wade, a 1999 Pickerington High School graduate who plays Sarabi in a touring production of Disney's THE LION KING. The production opens in Columbus on Oct. 14 and will stay in the city until Nov. 9 at Ohio Theatre.

The national tour of THE LION KING returns to kick off the 10th Broadway In Boston season at the Boston Opera House, most fittingly as the musical reopened the venue following its historic renovation in 2004. Some of the effects have diminished over the years, but the opening night audience roared its approval.

Directed by John Miller-Stephany, and with a cast led by Tony Award- winner Michael McGrath and Broadway veteran Noah Racey, this classic comedy begins performances tonight, April 22 and runs in the Elaine P.
