A series of Talk Backs following performances of the Vineyard Theatre and Naked Angels' co-production of Zayd Dohrn's new play OUTSIDE PEOPLE -- playing now through January 29 at The Vineyard (108 E. 15 St.) -- have been scheduled starting Sunday, January 15.

Burning Coal Theatre Company will hold an audition on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at the Murphey School, 224 Polk Street, Raleigh, for a staged reading of June Guralnick's Across the Holy Tell, directed by Jonathan McCarter.

Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick, will next season present new production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Tony Award-winning musical PASSION, to be directed by John Doyle (the Tony Award-winning revivals of Sondheim's Sweeney Todd and Company). PASSION is slated to begin performances in February, 2013.

Act II Playhouse will present the Philadelphia-area premiere of the Broadway drama Time Stands Still by Donald Margulies, directed by Act II Producing Artistic Director Bud Martin.

Northlight Theatre, under the direction of Artistic Director BJ Jones and Executive Director Timothy J. Evans, will present Black Pearl Sings! by Frank Higgins, directed by Steve Scott.

Cleveland Play House (CPH) will to produce Jeffrey Hatcher's backstage comedy Ten Chimneys as the inaugural production in the new Second Stage, one of only three fully outfitted, flexible theatres in the nation.

The world-premiere of Zayd Dohrn's play OUTSIDE PEOPLE, directed by Evan Cabnet and co-produced by Vineyard Theatre and Naked Angels begins preview performances December 21 prior to an official press opening of January 10 at Vineyard Theatre (108 East. 15th Street).

Canal Park Playhouse will present the world premiere of INADMISSABLE, a dark comedy about the Machiavellian realties of the college admission process by D.B. Gilles.

Impetus Ensemble will premiere this new work at the Dramatists Guild.

Sixth Avenue is set to present the Los Angeles Premiere of NERVE, written by Adam Szymkowicz, choreography by Laura Harrison and directed by Michael Matthews (Take Me Out, What's Wrong With Angry) and starring Anna Rubley and Adam Silver.

Acclaimed actress Jessica Chastain, winner of 2011 New York, Los Angeles and Chicago Film Critics and National Board of Review Awards and recently nominated for Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Awards, will make her Broadway debut starring in the Tony Award®-winning play The Heiress.

Hugh Jackman will return to Broadway during the 2013/2014 season starring as America's greatest showman in HOUDINI, an original musical. Making his Broadway debut as librettist, Academy Award and six-time Emmy Award winner Aaron Sorkin will collaborate with three-time Academy Award and four-time Grammy Award winner Stephen Schwartz. Directed by three-time Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien, HOUDINI is presented by film and theatre producer Scott Sanders and David Rockwell. Mr. Rockwell will also design the sets for HOUDINI. Additional HOUDINI casting, creative team and design team to be announced at a later date.

The Baltimore Playwrights Festival (www.baltplayfest.org) kicks off the New Year, and our 31st Season with a public play-reading marathon to take place on Saturday, 14 January at The Strand Theater, 1823 N. Beginning at 11:00 a.m. plays to be read are The Milwood Elementary School PTA by Sharon Goldner, directed by Steve Goldklang, followed at 1:00 p.m. by Shana Unsettled by Ronda Cooperstein, directed by Terry Moritz, and at 3:00 p.m. by Following Sarah by Rich Espey, directed by Josh Shoemaker. After each reading there will be a discussion of the script with the playwright, director and actors. The event is free, and the general public is encouraged to attend.
