Victory Gardens to Host 2013 Chicago One-Minute Play Festival, 6/17-18

Victory Gardens and the One-Minute Play Festival (OMPF) present the Third Annual Chicago One-Minute Play Festival, an evening of micro-plays by sixty of Chicago's top playwrights, directed by ten Chicago directors. OMPF benefits the Miller Match campaign and will be presented for two performances only, Monday, June 17 and Tuesday, June 18 at 7:30 p.m. at the Victory Gardens Biograph Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue in Lincoln Park.

Midwest Premiere of THE WHALE Plays Victory Gardens, Now thru 5/5

Victory Gardens continues its 2012-13 season with the Midwest Premiere of The Whale, written by Ensemble Playwright Samuel D. Hunter and directed by Joanie Schultz. The production runs tonight, April 5 - May 5, 2013 at the Victory Gardens Biograph Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue in Lincoln Park. The Press Opening is Monday, April 15, 2013 at 7:30 p.m.

Sandra Oh to Star in DEATH AND THE MAIDEN at Victory Gardens Theater; 2013-14 Season Announced!

Victory Gardens Theater announces 2013-14 Season: the Co-World Premiere of Appropriate by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, directed by Gary Griffin, developed, in part, by IGNITION 2012 and presented in association with Actors Theatre of Louisville; the World Premiere of Victory Gardens Ensemble Playwright Marcus Gardley's The Gospel of Lovingkindess; and the classic Death and the Maiden by Ariel Dorfman, directed by Chay Yew and featuring Sandra Oh.

Civic Theatre Announces Winners of 4th Annual Northeast Indiana Playwright Festival

The 4th Annual Playwright Festival will be held May 31 - June 2, 2013 at the Arts United Center and the Fort Wayne Museum of Art (adjacent at 303 & 311 E. Main Street, Fort Wayne, IN). The featured play will be Lombard by Michael B. Druxman, starring Jessica Butler as screen legend Carole Lombard. The featured play opens Friday, May 31 at 8pm and will also be performed during the festival on Sunday, June 2 at 2pm (with post-show discussion featuring playwright Michael B. Druxman). Lombard will run weekends through June 9.

From September 12 through September 15, the Dramatists Guild of America hosted its second annual Chicago Fellowship Program at Northwestern University led by the Tony Award-winning team of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, creators of Once On This Island, Seussical, and the recent Broadway revival of Ragtime. Now in its eleventh year (the first were held in New York), the Dramatists Guild Fellowship Program augments the training of emerging American dramatists and enhances the sense of community among them. Selected participants each contributed to planning and goal-setting sessions, master classes and discussions led by Ahrens, Flaherty and additional guests.

The Dramatists Guild of America and Northwestern University announce the selection of Nambi E.
