LOMBARD, THE MARK OF A DOG'S FOOT and More Set for 2013 Northeast Indiana Playwright Festival, Now thru 6/2

Lombard by Michael B. Druxman will star Jessica Butler as Carole Lombard. Directed by Phillip H. Colglazier, the show is part of the 2013 Northeast Indiana Playwright Festival, running tonight, May 31 through June 2, 2013.

As Carole Lombard awaits her flight home to L.A. and Clark Gable, she revisits her colorful past. Drawing liberally upon her legendary sailor's vocabulary, Lombard reminisces on ex-husband William Powell, as well as Russ Colombo, George Raft, Gary Cooper, Joseph P. Kennedy and her attempt to secure the role of Scarlett O'Hara in Gone With the Wind. Despite being set on the eve of her death, Lombard is the warm, funny story of a woman who was a fighter, both in her career and personal life.

Lombard contains frequent strong adult language.

The festival continues with The Wedding Gift by Nancy Carlson Dodd, directed by Gregory Stieber. Winner of the 4th Annual Northeast Indiana Playwright Festival.

Forty years after a bar fight, killing and cover-up that had involved them all, five lifelong friends gather at a favorite sports bar to consider their options as their crime could be exposed. The city has announced plans to dredge the old clay pit where they dumped the body of Barry, a notorious town bully and small time thief who had once been the town's football hero. The five friends struggle with starkly differing recollections of the event. Their discussion exposes fear, guilt, ambition, denial and, ultimately, truth.
