Yesterday, June 14, 2011 SHREK The Musical opened at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane after beginning previews on May 6, 2011. SHREK THE MUSICAL stars Nigel Lindsay as Shrek, Richard Blackwood as Donkey, Nigel Harman as Lord Farquaad and Amanda Holden as Princess Fiona. The Carlyle Hotel welcomed Olivier and Tony Award-winner Douglas Hodge (La Cage Aux Folles) to the legendary Café Carlyle in his debut engagement last night, March 15. Playing through Saturday, March 26, Mr. Hodge returns to New York to offer an evening of great American story songs, including some of his own compositions from the new musical, Meantime. For the act, he plays piano, guitar, and sings with support from a 3-piece band: Sonny Paladino (piano/musical director), Steve Millhouse (bass), and Jared Schonig (drums).
