Mentored by Artistic Advisor Gus Solomons jr, this season's artists will experiment with innovative ways to construct dynamic frames, discover breakthrough transitions and articulate emotional connections. Fall 2010 RAW Material artists include: Randy Burd; Sumi Clements/Summation Dance; Moriah Evans and Sarah Beth Percival; Gorgas/PoMoMojo; Joanna Kotze; and Dawn Robinson. The six up and coming choreographers will present their new 10-minute works in DNA's 130-seat state-of-the-art theater, October 7 & 8, 2010 at 8:00pm.

Portland Ovations, fresh from a recent summer presentation of Willie Nelson in concert, is gearing up for two more exciting preseason events, and then officially kicks off its 2010-11 season on September 29th with Liza Minnelli in concert. Next up, Ovations co-presents Garotas Suecas, the headline band of SPACE Gallery's Congress Street BLOCK PARTY! on the 11th of September. Then, Ovations hosts The 15th Annual Epicurean Auction Benefit at Merrill Auditorium on September 21st. Proceeds from the auction support Ovations Offstage programs. The full season contains twenty-two presentations of artists from around the world that have been acclaimed for their work. The line-up includes something for everyone whether its classical music, national Broadway tours, American legends in concert, world music, modern or cultural dance presentations, family shows or live theater and opera. Events continue through May 15th, 2011.
The Hartt School is pleased to announce the appointment of Nina Watt as Assistant Professor of Dance, effective September 1, 2010. Ms. Watt, a former Limón Dance Company principal dancer who was part of the Company for 30 years, toured internationally with the Company, performing in two State Department tours and at the White House.

Parsons Dance - praised around the world for its virtuosity, exceptional theatricality, athleticism, energy and accessibility - has awarded two partial scholarships to attend the Master Choreography Workshop with Artistic Director, Choreographer, and Parsons Dance founder David Parsons. The talented dancers receiving the scholarships this year are Leslie Duner and Jamie Baptist.
