Celebration Theatre will present a one night only benefit and readings in support of Celebration Theatre and its upcoming production of THE COLOR PURPLE. Scheduled to perform are John Lloyd Young (Jersey Boys), Nicholas Bishop, Matt Dallas, Keith David, Devon Gummersall, Sharon Lawrence, Peter Paige, Jason Ritter, Amy Smart Doug Spearman and from the cast of THE COLOR PURPLE - La Toya London (American Idol) & Cesili Williams!

As previously announced, on October 12, nearly 150 theaters nationwide will stage readings of the epilogue piece to 2000's The Laramie Project, entitled The Laramie Project: 10 Years Later, in honor of the 11th anniversary of Matthew Shepard's death. Glenn Close will be hosting a pre-show event to the Lincoln Center performance that will be broadcast to the theaters participating in the event nationwide.

South Coast Repertory will open its 2009-2010 season with a celebration of the music of Broadway legend Stephen Sondheim and will shine the spotlight later in the season on the up-and-coming musical theater composer and lyricist, Adam Gwon.
