In this exciting and relentlessly hyperviolent action film directed by Josh Waller, she stars as a woman forced to do battle with other innocents for the amusement of unseen spectators. Leading in to this special screening and appearance, the Museum will also present a retrospective of her work—chronicling her transformation from stuntwoman to star—in the films Whip It, Death Proof, and Kill Bill: Vol. 1 and Kill Bill: Vol. 2 on January 4 and 5. Seattle Opera's 50th Anniversary season continues with one of opera's greatest masterpieces, Verdi's Rigoletto. Considered by many to be the “perfect opera,” this tuneful tragedy tells of a tormented funnyman whose quest for vengeance ends up destroying all he holds dear. Fifty years ago, Seattle Opera produced Rigoletto as part of its first full season; in the decades since, Rigoletto's “La donna è mobile” has penetrated American pop culture and has appeared in everything from a Doritos Super Bowl commercial to an episode of Star Trek: Voyager and Elmo's World on Sesame Street. Now, Seattle Opera revives its popular 2004 production set in Mussolini's Italy and featuring several leading Italian artists. The show opens on January 11, 2014, and runs for seven performances through January 25.

Sottosopra Cinema LLC, an Illinois production company, announced today its launch of a feature-length documentary film on the student loan debt crisis by Emmy nominated director Josh Hester and award-winning producer Zach Baliva. The documentary, currently in pre-production, will examine the impact student loan debt is having on current, future, and former students as well as their friends, their families, and our nation. It is expected to hit the festival circuit in 2015 ahead of DVD distribution. The project is launching with a 30-day, $15,000 crowdfunding campaign to finance the production of a short-format version of the film. "The national student loan debt has surpassed one trillion dollars. What it's keeping our graduates from accomplishing and how the broken system could destroy our economy are important issues we should be discussing." Baliva is the founder of Sottosopra Cinema LLC and previously co-produced the independent film My Name is Jerry starring Doug Jones, which won Best Picture at the International Filmmaker Festival. Hester's recognitions include a 2013 Mid-America Emmy nomination, three Bronze Telly Awards, and a 2003 Best Film Award from the International Student Documentary Competition for his short film Dear Mr. President. TNT, TBS to Bring FALLING SKIES, MOB CITY, KING OF THE NERDS & More to New York Comic Con

Top-rated cable networks TNT and TBS are preparing to invade New York Comic Con with four exciting panels for the Oct. 10-13 event. TNT will present panels for its Epic sci-fi series Falling Skies, which returns for its fourth season in summer 2014, and eagerly anticipated noir drama Mob City, which premieres Dec. 4. TBS will stage panels for the hit competition show King of the Nerds, which returns for its second season Jan. 23, and the upcoming late-night series The Pete Holmes Show, which premieres Oct. 28. In addition, TBS is sponsoring a special live edition of the popular If I Were You podcast, guest-starring Pete Holmes.

TNT Renews FALLING SKIES for Fourth Season

TNT has ordered a fourth season of Falling Skies, the Epic drama produced by DreamWorks Television and executive producer Steven Spielberg and starring Noah Wyle. Currently airing Sundays at 10 p.m. (ET/PT), Falling Skies is averaging 5.8 million viewers in Live + 7 delivery and ranks as basic cable's #1 scripted series with adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 for the summer-to-date. TNT plans to launch the 10-episode fourth season in summer 2014.
