From the return of an R&B superstar to the newest player in the late night landscape, BET is bringing the heat even when the weather begins to cool.

Continuing the historical legacy of the famed Apollo Theater to give a stage to future stars, CENTRIC announced today the debut of the new original series APOLLO LIVE.

Having increased primetime ratings year-to-date by 33% percent, VH1 is keeping the momentum going with new original programs that reflect the interests of its 'adultster' audience - adults who are 'balancing new responsibilities with their desires to stay current with what's happening in music and pop culture.'

"The 2012 Fresh Music Festival" will feature the artists that symbolized the music scene in the 80s and 90s to include award winning R&B singer Keith Sweat, trailblazing R&B girl group Sisters With Voices, R&B duo K-Ci & Jojo and Guy tonight, July 20 at 8 p.m. The event will be hosted by legendary rapper, Doug E. Fresh.

Following her successful run on 'Dancing With the Stars,' the 'Empress of Soul,' Gladys Knight, will lend her musical expertise to CENTRIC's new original series APOLLO LIVE premiering in Fall 2012.

Grindstone Entertainment, a subsidiary of Lionsgate, has acquired the U.S. domestic rights for the hip-hop thriller 'You're Nobody 'Til Somebody Kills You.' The film was written and directed by Michael A. Pinckney who has worked as an Assistant Director for Spike Lee for more than 10 years. Lee is an Executive Producer on the film.
