Fantasia, After Midnight's original Grammy Award-winning 'Special Guest Star,' will reprise her critically acclaimed performance in the smash hit Broadway musical, Tuesday, May 13 through Sunday, June 8, 2014. After Midnight will donate $5 from each ticket sold for the Tuesday, May 13th performance to the Harlem School of the Arts, now celebrating its 50th Anniversary. Directed and choreographed by Warren Carlyle and featuring the big-band sounds of nine-time Grammy Award-winner Wynton Marsalis' Jazz at Lincoln Center All-Stars, After Midnight performs at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre (256 West 47th Street).

Beijing Playhouse's production of the munchkinized Christmas musical comedy Wizard of Oz opened at the Beijing stage December 6 and runs through Decmeber 22, 2013. Weekday evenings at 7:30 pm. American Ballet Theatre and Harlem School of the Arts Announce Ballet Training Partnership

American Ballet Theatre (ABT) and the Harlem School of the Arts (HSA) Dance Department have formed a unique training partnership, which will incorporate ABT's National Training Curriculum in HSA's dance curriculum. Beginning Fall 2013, ABT will train HSA's dance faculty in the principles of its National Training Curriculum. The establishment of an ABT Certification for HSA will provide a comprehensive training program in ballet for all HSA dance faculty, including student exams to evaluate teachers and students, refresher courses and mentorship. The partnership will be introduced to the Harlem School of the Arts community of dance families and students on Tuesday, May 21 at 7 pm at HSA's Theater, 649 Saint Nicholas Avenue with a lecture-demonstration presented by the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis (JKO) School at American Ballet Theatre.

The Harlem School of the Arts (HSA), the community-based cultural and educational institution serving children and families of all backgrounds for nearly 50 years, today announced that it will receive an historic grant of more than $5 million from the Herb Alpert Foundation. The grant, totaling $5,050,000, is a gift from legendary musician, artist and philanthropist Herb Alpert to ensure a sustainable future for the Harlem School of the Arts and the future of its students.

For over nine months, the Harlem School of the Arts (HSA) has worked with Disney Theatrical Group to develop adaptations of Disney's musical The Lion King for young performers. Aubrey Lynch is an original cast member and former associate producer of the Broadway production, and he has been overseeing HAS's workshop presentations of Disney Theatrical Group's newest in-development musical for young people. This process has become a vehicle for HSA to further its mission and develop a fifth discipline, musical theatre.
