The 10th edition of The Music Center's highly popular Sleepless: The Music Center After Hours will transform The Music Center's Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, filling it with Cuba's most talented artists and featuring live performances; originally created photographic, sound and light installations; film screenings; and a mercadito of Cuban artwork and merchandise. This special edition of Sleepless will offer a 21st century re?imagining and re?interpretation of what it means to be a contemporary Cuban artist working in a globally-influenced world, all in a late-night experiential environment. From October 28 through 31, LA Opera presents a special Halloween treat for cinephiles and opera lovers alike: a screening of Jean Cocteau's ravishingly beautiful 1946 cinematic masterpiece La Belle et la B te ('Beauty and the Beast'), with an enchanting Philip Glass score performed live by the Philip Glass Ensemble and four vocal soloists at the spectacular Theatre at Ace Hotel.
Houston Ballet Trustee, Lynn Wyatt, Donates Generously to Ensure the Show Will Go On

Immediately after Hurricane Harvey, long-time Houston Ballet Trustee, Lynn Wyatt, stepped in to make sure Houston Ballet dancers could continue dancing and carry on with performances. With the company's home venue, The Wortham Theater, closed until May 2018, Houston Ballet will have to utilize alternative venues for upcoming its 2017-2018 Season. The company was in need of a portable dance floor to ensure their health and safety in an alternative venue, and without hesitation, Mrs. Wyatt generously underwrote a specialized, portable dance floor to meet that need while enhancing the dancers' performances as well as travel with Houston Ballet when the company goes on tour.
