The theatre gods giveth and they taketh away, as a slough of Midlands plays close but a couple more open!

CABARET has stood the test of time and Moonbox Productions puts a time stamp on the 1966 musical that brings it into the here and now. Director/choreographer Rachel Bertone and Music Director Dan Rodriguez whip a kick-ass kick line of high steppers into a precision machine to evoke the seedy Kit Kat Klub, and triple threat performers Aimee Doherty, Phil Tayler, and Jared Troilo lead an outstanding cast.

Netflix has announced two new cast members joining season three of their smash-hit original series Stranger Things. Cary Elwes has been cast as a guest performer in the role of 'Mayor Kleine and Jake Busey joins as 'Bruce'

The Alliance for Women in Media Foundation (AWMF) announced the winners of the 43 rd annual Gracie Awards to take place May 22 at the Four Seasons Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles. The event will recognize such esteemed honorees as Ashley Judd, Billie Jean King, Claire Danes, Elizabeth Marvel, Hoda Kotb, Issa Rae, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Katie Couric, Megan Mullally, Pam Oliver, Reese Witherspoon, and Shirley Strawberry, along with some of the most talented women in television, radio and digital media. Local and student award winners will be recognized at the Gracie Awards Luncheon on June 27 at Cipriani in New York City.

Vulture today announced the lineup for Vulture Festival, a weekend of high-profile events bringing the entertainment site to life, celebrating the best of today's television, comedy, film, podcasts, and more. The pop-culture extravaganza, taking place May 19-20 at Milk Studios in New York City, includes panels, screenings, performances, and live podcast recordings. The American Dance Festival (ADF) presents Obie, 'Bessie,' and Alpert award-winning choreographer Mark Dendy and director/designer Stephen Donovan's latest work Elvis Everywhere at New York Live Arts on May 10-12 at 7:30pm. 2018 marks Dendy's 35th year as an innovative choreographer on the downtown scene in New York City.

The 2017-18 MetLiveArts Artist in Residence, the groundbreaking choreographer and artistic director Andrea Miller of GALLIM, closes her year-long residency with six days of a performative installation in the three gallery spaces of The Met Breuer. In collaboration with award-winning filmmaker Ben Stamper, composer Will Epstein, and fashion designer Jose Solis, GALLIM's dancers take over the Museum's fifth floor in the world premiere of (C)arbon, a work on the phenomenon of the body. Each of the three gallery spaces is dedicated to a distinct perspective on the anthropology of the body-as individuals, in dual relationships and in the social mass. (C)arbon can be experienced alongside the exhibition, Like Life: Sculpture, Color, and the Body at The Met Breuer.

Previews begin tonight, Tuesday April 10, at the Curran theatre (445 Geary Street) for Head Over Heels, the new musical comedy featuring the iconic songs of The Go-Go's- the most successful female rock band of all time.

Support Act is humbled to announce that this year it will honour artist, storyteller and singer/songwriter, Archie Roach, at its annual fundraising event, Music in the House. Archie will be presented with Support Act's Excellence in the Community Award in recognition of his powerful contribution to the voice of First Nations' people and all Australians. 

A treat for 2018's edition, Eastern Electrics Festival is extending it's offering into a full weekend affair, now running across 4th and 5th August at Morden Park. Whilst Saturday's outing explores all things house, techno, garage and more - Sunday's outing leans towards reggae, DnB, grime, hip hop, garage, bass and more set across six stages and featuring the likes of David Rodigan, CASisDEAD, RAM Records, Spooky, Grandmixxer, Bad Company UK, Matt Jam Lamont, Wookie and many more, plus two MASSIVE unannounced guests, this is a festival for any underground music head looking for a bass heavy day out.
