The producers of the new musical, ANASTASIA, today unveil a first look photo of Christy Altomare, Derek Klena, and Ramin Karimloo.

The producers of IN TRANSIT announced today that Broadway veteran Colin Hanlon (Falsettos, Rent) will assume the role of 'Steven' in Broadway's first a cappella musical, beginning Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Circle in the Square Theatre (235 West 50th Street).

As previously announced, the critically acclaimed Broadway production of Fiddler on the Roof will end its run on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 2:00PM. This revival will have played a total of 463 performances when it gives its final bow. Just confirmed, a National Tour is planned beginning in the fall of 2018.

Casting has been announced for the Providence engagement of Disney's THE LION KING. The six-time Tony Award winner triumphantly returns to the Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC) for a limited three-week engagement, from Tuesday, February 28 to Sunday, March 19, 2017. 

A friend referred to The King and I as a war horse, an old chestnut, for it has surely surpassed time as an enduring musical classic, but upon seeing it again, one realizes just how potent, vibrant and topical a piece it truly is. Musicals of such depth and perspective with a keen eye to the future seem to be a thing of the past. Yes, it's a love story at the core, an unlikely one, but with many, many more levels. It entails issues of race, slavery, the urgency for a king of a tiny uncivilized kingdom to change his primitive, barbaric ways, and for his children to receive a truthful education as he embarks on assimilating 19th century Siam to western culture and civilization...and to repeat, it's a bigger-than-life love story that has become eternally revered not only for its music but for its intolerance of bigotry of any type. In this 2015 Broadway revival, currently onstage at the Hollywood Pantages Theater, nothing is lost; every gorgeous detail is present, and the story of Anna and The King is radiantly performed through January 21, 2017. In short, this production is a stunner.

The National Tour of The King and I, which won a Tony Award for Best Revival in 2015, is opened at the Pantages Theater in Los Angeles last night, and will play through January 21st, 2017. Stars of the stage and screen, including original cast members of one of Rodgers and Hammerstein's most beloved classics, came out in droves to celebrate the opening, and we've got all of the lovely red carpet photos below!

According to an article in the New York Post, French playwright Jean-Etienne de Becdelievre has accused the producers of the upcoming Anastasia musical of plagiarizing material from his 1952 play titled 'Anastasia.'

 Today, Comcast and theatrical producer Janet B. Rosen announce "In Transit: The Making of the First Broadway A Cappella Musical," a new entertainment special now airing exclusively on Xfinity On Demand.

Broadway In Boston, Ambassador Theatre Group and NETworks Presentations LLC announced today that the national tour of The Lincoln Center Theater Production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's THE KING AND I, will play a limited two week engagement at the Boston Opera House April 11-23, 2017 as part of the 2016-2017 Lexus Broadway In Boston Season. THE KING AND I, directed by Tony Award® Winner Bartlett Sher won four 2015 Tony Awards® including Best Revival of a Musical.

Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director/CEO) has just announced Robert Fairchild (Bill), Helene Yorke (Lois), Chuck Cooper (Harry Trevor/Baptista), Richard Kind (Gangster) and John Pankow (Gangster) will join Kelli O'Hara (Lilli Vanessi) and Will Chase (Fred Graham) in a one-night only Benefit Concert Reading of Kiss Me, Kate with music and lyrics by Cole Porter and book by Sam and Bella Spewack, music direction by Patrick Vaccariello and choreography by Warren Carlyle. Roundabout's Associate Artistic Director, Scott Ellis, will direct this one-night only special event.

Four-time Tony Award Nominee Judy Kuhn(Fun Home, She Loves Me, Chess, Les Miserables) joins the cast of Fiddler on the Roof as Golde beginning tonight, Tuesday, November 22nd and will play through the show's final performance on Saturday, December 31st at 2:00 pm.  She takes over the role from Jessica Hecht whose final performance was on Sunday, November 20th.

As previously announced, Roundabout Theatre Company will conclude its revival of The Cherry Orchard on Sunday, December 4, starring Diane Lane, Chuck Cooper, Tavi Gevinson, John Glover, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Harold Perrineau and Joel Grey.

Disney Theatrical Productions and the Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC) announced today that tickets for the long-awaited return engagement of Disney's THE LION KING will go on sale to the public today, November 18, 2016 at 10A. Providence's most eagerly awaited return will once again leap onto the PPAC stage for a limited engagement of 3 weeks from Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 7P through Sunday, March 19, 2017 at 1P. The opening night is on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 7:30P.
