The nonprofit AT&T Performing Arts Center, Ambassador Theatre Group and NETworks Presentations LLC announce today that tickets for the national tour of the Lincoln Center Theater Production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's THE KING AND I will go on sale Sunday, September 24 at 10 a.m.

The American Theatre Wing (Heather Hitchens, President) is pleased to announce that five theater artists will be honored by the Henry Hewes Design Awards Committee during the presentation of its 2017 Awards in a luncheon ceremony on Tuesday, January 23, 2018.

Julie Taymor may not be a household name, but her magical staging and mesmerizing creativity is most likely the reason why THE LION KING has become a world wide phenomenon. The termed blockbuster is tossed about all too frequently but the Disney stage production of their 1994 animated musical has garnered such praise that even on repeat viewing, audiences still are captivated.

The first Broadway revival of David Henry Hwang's Tony Award -winning play, M. BUTTERFLY will play its final performance on Sunday, December 17, 2017, after playing 19 previews and 61 regular performances at the Cort Theatre (138 W 48th Street).

In honor of the show's 20th anniversary, The Lion King cast members Adrienne Walker, who's been playing Nala on Broadway since July of 2016, and Agust n Arg ello, currently starring as Simba in Mexico City's production, released a performance of 'Can You Feel the Love Tonight' in Spanish and English. Disney's THE LION KING is celebrating its sold-out engagement in Baltimore, which concluded on Sunday at the Hippodrome Theatre. The triumphant four-week return grossed over $5.6 million at the box office and entertained more than 64,000 patrons during 31 performances. This was The Lion King's third time in Baltimore, following a 5-week engagement in 2012.

Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of Andr Bishop) has announced that Allan Corduner will play Colonel Pickering, Jordan Donica will play Freddy Eynsford-Hill, and Linda Mugleston will play Mrs. Pearce, in its upcoming production of Lerner & Loewe's MY FAIR LADY, directed by Bartlett Sher. They join Lauren Ambrose (as Eliza Doolittle), Harry Hadden-Paton (as Henry Higgins), Norbert Leo Butz (as Alfred P. Doolittle), and Diana Rigg (as Mrs. Higgins) to head the cast of 37 in this new production of the most beloved musical of all time, beginning performances Thursday, March 15 and opening on Thursday, April 19 at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street). Additional casting will be announced at a later date.

A touring company of Rodgers and Hammerstein's THE KING AND I is currently playing the Fox Theatre, and it's a very engaging revival of the classic musical. It's an elegant and entertaining show that won a Tony for best revival in 2015, and it's easy to see why. With familiar and lovely songs like Getting to Know You and the rousing Shall We Dance, this venerable warhorse still lights up the stage, and I thoroughly recommend it!

Disney Theatrical Productions and Miller Auditorium announced today that tickets for the West Michigan premiere engagement of Disney's The Lion King go on sale to the public this Friday, Dec.1. Disney's The Lion King will leap onto the Miller Auditorium Theatre stage on April 4, 2018 for a limited 2 week engagement through April 15.

Folger Theatre continues its 2017/18 season with The Way of the World, a new comedy freely adapted from the classic play by William Congreve. Disney's The Lion King has set the record for the highest-grossing engagement in Syracuse theatrical history with a gross of $4.1 million. The award-winning musical entertained 53,104 theatergoers during the three-week engagement at The Landmark Theatre, which concluded on November 12.
