The Great Chicago Fire Festival, celebrating Chicago's grit, greatness and renewal following the historic Great Chicago Fire of 1871, is presented by Redmoon with the City of Chicago'sDepartment of Cultural Affairs and Special Events and Chicago Park District. Activity takes place between the State Street and Columbus Drive bridges in the heart of downtown beginning at 8 pm.

Spectralia Theatre, in cooperation with Friends of the Parks and the Chicago Park District, presents William Shakespeare's The Two Gentlemen of Verona June 21st to August 3rd. Set against the backdrop of the 1896 Yukon Gold Rush, Spectralia's production features prospectors, saloon gals, and outlaws in a search for love and fortune. This family-friendly, 90-minute version of The Two Gentlemen of Verona is a great introduction to Shakespeare as well as a new take on a classic comedy. Patrons are encouraged to bring picnics, blankets and/or chairs to this outdoor production.

On Tuesday evening, June 10, the Burt Reynolds Institute for Film and Theatre will present a preview of The Property Known as Garland starring Lee Marlow and directed by legendary film actor Burt Reynolds at the Lake Park Mirror Ballroom. The show, which is being performed on Judy Garland's birthday, begins at 8:00 pm. The proceeds will benefit the Burt Reynolds Institute Building Fund. IFC FIlms presents COLDIN JULY, a film by Jim Mickle, starring Michael C. Hall, Sam Shepard, Don Johnson and Wyatt Russell, based on the book by Joe R. Lansdale.
