Television and film actors Jesse Spencer and Taylor Kinney, both stars of the hit NBC drama 'Chicago Fire,' will lend their heat to the inaugural Great CHICAGO FIRE Festival, the free spectacle of fire on the Chicago River set to take place today, October 4.

The Los Angeles Philharmonic and its Music Director Gustavo Dudamel opened the 2014/15 season with A Celebration of John Williams: Opening Night Gala Concert, a star-studded evening honoring the greatest film composer of all time at Walt Disney Concert Hall, Tuesday, September 30. The event featured the LA Phil, led by Dudamel, world-renowned violinist Itzhak Perlman, soloists Dan Higgins, Glenn Paulson and Michael Valerio, the U.S. Army Herald Trumpets and the Los Angeles Children's Chorus, led by Anne Tomlinson and supported by members from the Angeles Chorale. Also showcased were several elaborate video installations created by projection designer Netia Jones and critically-acclaimed creative studio LIGHTMAP. The all-Williams concert program included specially selected works from throughout his impressive career as well as a surprise appearance during the encores.

From Emmy Award(R)-winning and Academy Award(R)-nominated writer-producer Michael Mann, the series, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this fall, became appointment viewing on Friday nights and launched a national fashion trend inspired by the cool whites and colorful pastels worn by lead characters, Detectives James Crockett (Don Johnson) and Ricardo Tubbs (Philip Michael Thomas).

Spectralia Theatre, in cooperation with Friends of the Parks and the Chicago Park District, presents William Shakespeare's The Two Gentlemen of Verona June 21st to August 3rd. Set against the backdrop of the 1896 Yukon Gold Rush, Spectralia's production features prospectors, saloon gals, and outlaws in a search for love and fortune. This family-friendly, 90-minute version of The Two Gentlemen of Verona is a great introduction to Shakespeare as well as a new take on a classic comedy. Patrons are encouraged to bring picnics, blankets and/or chairs to this outdoor production.

On Tuesday evening, June 10, the Burt Reynolds Institute for Film and Theatre will present a preview of The Property Known as Garland starring Lee Marlow and directed by legendary film actor Burt Reynolds at the Lake Park Mirror Ballroom. The show, which is being performed on Judy Garland's birthday, begins at 8:00 pm. The proceeds will benefit the Burt Reynolds Institute Building Fund.
