True Colors' 17th Season Celebrates Black Women Storytellers

Incoming Artistic Director Jamil Jude and True Colors Theatre Company are thrilled to announce the 2019 - 2020 season, dubbed "She Griots." The three productions of this 17th season focus on strong women playwrights, storytellers, historians and leaders of various generations.

World Premieres from Dominique Morisseau, Katori Hall, and More Lined Up for Signature's 2019/20 Season

The 2019-2020 Signature Theatre Season will feature six works by five resident playwrights, including two productions by Signature's new Residency 1 playwright Anna Deavere Smith, world premiere plays from Residency 5 playwrights Katori Halland Dominique Morisseau, a New York premiere from new Residency 5 playwright Lauren Yee, and a new production of a Pulitzer Prize-winning play from Legacy playwright Horton Foote, the company announced today.

Lea Michele, Erich Bergen And More Join Darren Criss In Center Theatre Group's 'A Grand Night' Benefit

Center Theatre Group has announced additional performers and two special guests for 'A Grand Night,' a one-night-only event on Monday, April 22 featuring a 5:30 p.m. pre-show reception in the Ahmanson lobby, a 7 p.m. performance in the Mark Taper Forum and a post-show gala dinner on the stage of the Ahmanson Theatre. Tickets are also available for the performance only starting at $100.

BroadwayWorld has learned the Studio Theatre's2019-2020 Main Series Season, featuring five productions marked by their expansive curiosity and theatrical dexterity. The plays in Studio's 41st season range from an indictment of a failing education system to a complex consideration of authority and abuse in the Catholic Church, a raucous comedy about the ugliness of the beauty industry to a humane but unflinching look at young Black men caught in a cycle of violence beyond their control, and an excavation of a childhood shaped by a parent's secret life. Characteristically Studio, these productions span the globe, or head back in time, to powerfully illuminate our present moment.

Ensemble Theatre Announces 2019-2020 Season

Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati (ETC), the region's premiere theatre, is delighted to announce its 2019-2020 Season, which features a five-time Tony Award-winning musical, a raucous rom-com with a sweet sixth-sense, an urgent and gripping drama about breaking a sinister cycle, a snapshot of an unsung scientific heroine, and a close-up of a forty-year, age-defying friendship. Along with this compelling lineup, next season also features the return of ETC's very first original holiday musical, plus a seventh (and explicit) show offering for those who are looking for some not-so-family-friendly entertainment.

WAM Theatre Announces  Beneficiary and Education Outreach for Spring Mainstage Production

WAM Theatre has announced that local organization Tapestry was selected from a pool of applicants to be the primary beneficiary of WAM's spring Mainstage World Premiere production of Lady Randy - a delightfully dizzying romp through the life of Jennie Jerome, mother of Winston Churchill, written by and starring Anne Undeland. In keeping with its double philanthropic mission, WAM Theatre will be donating a portion of the box office proceeds from Lady Randy to Tapestry after their closing performance on May 5. To date, WAM has donated $56,500 to its fifteen beneficiaries.

Dominique Morisseau To Take Part In Live Q&A Discussion On March 27th

Renowned American playwright Dominique Morisseau, recipient of a 2018 MacArthur Foundation 'Genius Grant,' will take part in a live Q&A discussion at St. Francis College, during which she will address her experiences writing for theater and television, how playwrights can be activists and other topics.
