'Exhilarating,' according to London's The Guardian, Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet's 16 gorgeous and technically exquisite dancers bring beauty and daring, athletic movement to The Eccles spotlight tonight, March 1. The company's mixed repertory performance includes three evocative pieces, created by some of the world's most sought-after and emerging choreographers. Performance begins at 7:30 p.m.

Women's History Month Family Day | Saturday, March 1, 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Celebrate Women's History Month with a Family Day in collaboration with the Smithsonian Center for Learning and Digital Access. This fun-filled day will feature performances by the Duncan Dancers and Simple Gifts Music. Experiment with oil pastels in the style of artist Georgia O'Keeffe and participate in an art-making activity led by illustrator Sushmita Mazumdar in the Robert and Arlene Kogod Courtyard.

Heroes, gangsters, despots, do-gooders, villains, cherubs… all will gather at St. Regis Deer Valley for the impishly delightful, Third Annual Saints & Sinners Ball on Saturday, March 15. Proceeds from this St. Paddy's celebration benefit Park City Institute's Student Outreach Program. The revelry begins at 6 p.m. Dressing the part is encouraged, but not required.

Dr. Larry Smarr is an astrophysicist turned computer scientist turned healthcare futurist. By charting and examining every minute detail about his own body's input and output (i.e., everything from skin temperature to the microbial make-up of stool samples), he's challenging the status quo of how we view health. The founder of Calit2 and the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (and an advisor to NASA, NIH, DOE and NSF), Dr. Smarr comes to Park City to talk about his breakthrough experiments in self-diagnostics and identifying solutions for the future of healthcare on Friday, March 7 as part of the 2013-2014 “Future in Review” speaker series. The evening, 'The Story of My Body: A Medical Revolution,” takes place in the intimate Black Box Theater of Park City's Eccles Center at 7:30p.m. Tickets are $25.

Perhaps the most controversial opera of the 20th century makes its Southern California debut when Long Beach Opera (LBO) stages John Adams' The Death of Klinghoffer on March 16 and March 22 at the Terrace Theater in downtown Long Beach. This powerful and unsettling work chronicles the 1985 hijacking of the Mediterranean cruise ship Achille Lauro by Palestinian terrorists and the murder of disabled Jewish-American passenger, Leon Klinghoffer. LBO's production is a partner presentation of the Los Angeles Philharmonic's 'Minimalist Jukebox' Festival.
