Sarah Arison Appointed Chair Of YoungArts At Backyard Ball

On Saturday, January 13, 2018, the National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts) announced the appointment of Sarah Arison as Chair of the Board of Trustees during the organization's largest annual fundraiser, the Backyard Ball performance and gala. Ms. Arison will assume the position immediately. The celebratory evening honored Academy Award-winning playwright and YoungArts master teacher Tarell Alvin McCraney (1999 YoungArts Winner in Theater) with the 2018 Arison Alumni Award for his contributions and commitment to the arts.

YoungArts Selects 2018 Young Dancers To Watch

It's that time of year, and the National YoungArts Foundation is proud to introduce the 2018 dancers to watch. On Wednesday, January 10, 18 up-and-coming dancers and 3 choreographers performed at New World Center in Miami as part of National YoungArts Week. These extraordinarily talented artists have been named 2018 YoungArts Finalists one of the nation's most prestigious awards for 15 to 18 years old.

Music Institute's Andrew Guo Named Presidential Scholar

The Music Institute of Chicago is thrilled to announce that the Commission on Presidential Scholars has named Andrew Guo, a piano student in the Music Institute's prestigious Academy for gifted pre-college musicians, a U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts. Guo is one of 20 YoungArts Winners from 10 states, representing eight artistic disciplines, to receive this high honor based on artistic achievement, personal characteristics, leadership, and service activities.
