Dancap Productions Inc., producers of the award-winning hit musical JERSEY BOYS, will celebrate the production's one year anniversary tonight at the Toronto Centre for the Arts. In honour of the anniversary, Dancap Productions is extending the current run of JERSEY BOYS through to November 29, 2009. Tickets are on sale now! Tonight's anniversary events include a ceremonial cake and special guest appearances by Bob Gaudio and Rick Elice.

The Metropolitan Opera has reason to celebrate; $2.5 million worth of tickets were sold on Sunday, the first day of sales, through its box office, telephone call center and Web site, up from $2 million on the first day of sales last year, according to the Associated press.

The Stratford Shakespeare Festival announces that Seán Cullen will be stepping in to assume the role of Pseudolus in the current production of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. Bruce Dow, who was originally cast in the role and has had audiences rolling in the aisles since previews began, has had to withdraw from the 2009 season because of an injury that has caused him to miss some recent performances. In order to fully heal, he needs an extended period of recovery.

The previous record of $604,396.75 was held by Riverdance. JERSEY BOYS opened to rave reviews on Wednesday, July 29 and it will play through Saturday evening, September 26.

Wildhorn's WONDERLAND Announces New Members Of Creative Team For Tampa Premiere

The Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center today announces several additions to the creative team for Wonderland: Alice's New Musical Adventure. According to producer Judith Lisi, president and CEO of TBPAC, Marguerite Derricks will choreograph the production and Ron Melrose will serve as music supervisor and provide vocal and dance arrangements as well as incidental music. Susan Hilferty, Neil Patel and Paul Gallo will design the costumes, sets and lights respectively, while Jon Weston will design the sound and Sven Ortel will design video and projections.
