DON'T QUIT YOUR NIGHT JOB, the acclaimed comic evening, featuring a revolving cast of Broadway's brightest performing without a net, returned to the stage on Thursday, August 20th at to its new venue, Julia Miles Theater (424 W 55th St/9th Ave).

The Shubert Theatre box office (255 West 44th) opens Monday, August 24, at 10am for the original musical MEMPHIS. The Shubert Theatre box office will be open Monday through Saturday s from 10am to 8pm, and beginning September 27th, Sundays from noon to 6pm.

Full casting was announced today for MEMPHIS, an original Broadway musical, opening Monday, October 19, 2009 at the Shubert Theatre (225 W. 44th Street) following critically-acclaimed and sold-out engagements at La Jolla Playhouse and Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre. Previews begin on Wednesday, September 23, 2009.

On Saturday, July 11th, Broadway performers from The Little Mermaid, Billy Eilliot, Mamma Mia!, and Bye Bye Birdie Celebrated Canada Day, which is on July 1st. They joined Robert Creighton and Friends for the 5th Annual Canadian Day Party at THE IRISH ROGUE (356 W 44th Street).

Last seen on B'way in a featured role in 'Legally Blonde', the girl with the memorable name is a veteran of several hit shows.

With the massive influx of musicals based on movies (or even worse, TV shows) lately such as 'Young Frankenstein', 'Shrek', 'Legally Blonde' and the upcoming '9 to 5', 'Catch Me If You Can' and 'Spider Man', one might think that the original American Musical is dead (or at least on life support).
