It's the biggest night in London Theatre! The Olivier Awards 2016 with MasterCard - the most prestigious event in the UK's theatrical calendar - take place tonight at the Royal Opera House, hosted by Michael Ball. This year's list of Olivier Award nominees includes Gemma Arterton, Kenneth Branagh, Kenneth Cranham, Benedict Cumberbatch, Judi Dench, Mark Gatiss, Denise Gough, Preeya Kalidas, Nicole Kidman, Adrian Lester, Lara Pulver, Mark Rylance, Imelda Staunton, Tom Sturridge and David Suchet.

Last night, Wednesday 23 March, saw the opening night of the much-anticipated production of Duncan Macmillan's intoxicating new play, PEOPLE, PLACES & THINGS, at the Wyndham's Theatre. Transferring to the West End after a sell-out National Theatre run, Duncan Macmillan's PEOPLE, PLACES & THINGS opened last night at Wyndham's Theatre. Directed by Jeremy Herrin, the show is a collaboration between the National and Headlong. It's recently extended its run and is now booking to June 18.

At a ceremony held today at London's Café de Paris, Steve Furst announced the nominees for the 16th Annual WhatsOnStage Awards. The announcement of the nominations marks the opening of the final voting stage (closes 31 January), with winners announced at the annual Awards Concert held on 21 February 2016 at the Prince of Wales Theatre.
