Songs of the Season at Met Museum to Feature Robert Sirota, Nadia Sirota & More, 12/19

Music for the holidays by composer Robert Sirota will be featured in a special holiday concert, Songs of the Season, presented by The Metropolitan Museum of Art (1000 Fifth Avenue) in The Grace Rainey Rogers Auditorium on Friday, December 19, 2014 at 7pm. The Met Museum Presents concert will include performances by The Choristers of The Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine led by conductor Malcolm J. Merriweather, soprano Mellissa Hughes, violist Nadia Sirota, and harpist Victoria Drake.

Oakland East Bay Symphony Premieres BROTHERS IN ARTS Tonight

The West Coast Premiere of Chris Brubeck and Guillaume Saint-James' jazz-orchestral work Brothers in Arts will highlight the 2014-2015 season opening of the Oakland East Bay Symphony tonight, November 7 conducted by Music Director Michael Morgan, who celebrates his 25th year with the Symphony. Brothers in Arts and Tchaikovsky's Fifth Symphony will be performed in one concert only, tonight November 7, at 8 pm at the Paramount Theatre in Oakland. The concert is sponsored by Wells Fargo and the Clarence E. Heller Charitable Foundation

In advance of Classic Stage Company's rare production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's 1947 musical Allegro, CSC's artistic director Brian Kulick and Tony Award-winning director John Doyle lead a conversation on the legendary team's most personal, groundbreaking and little-known work. The discussion also includes Ted Chapin, president and executive director of Rodgers & Hammerstein: An Imagem Company, and cast members George Abud, Claybourne Elder, and Jane Pfitsch.
