Beneath the streets of every major global city lies a dark and ugly secret. It's the hidden ingredient that has transformed primitive outposts into wondrous metropolitan areas, forcing mankind into radical urban and architectural directions, propelling advances in science and jump-starting revolutions.
Gold Mine Mag recently sat down with Twisted Sisters' Dee Snider, who has signed to do a new record that isn't metal. It will be called 'Dee Does Broadway.' 'I'm taking Broadway show tunes and I'm making them rock,' he said. 'It's sort of a Twisted Christmas taken to Broadway. But there are some pretty metallic moments there, I'll tell you. Sweeney Todd translates into a metal song amazingly - bass, drums, guitar - so some of the songs are really metallic, but it's a rock record. I'm doing it as a solo artist. I'm working on that.'
In celebration of the reopening of Rock of Ages at the Helen Hayes Theatre, Dee Snider of Twisted Sister was honored with a certificate naming him the show's worldwide ambassador during a celebration held at Bowlmor Lanes Times Square this past Friday. Snider, whose music is featured in the hit Broadway show (‘I Wanna Rock' and ‘We're Not Gonna Take It'), recently played the character of 'Dennis' for an 11 week run before the show went dark last fall in anticipation of its move to the Helen Hayes Theatre.
