Ease on down to Central Park this August!

The Music Institute of Chicago announces the 2015-16 season of its Faculty and Guest Artist Series, showcasing women in jazz, illustrious alumni, and the 10th anniversary of its Academy for training gifted pre-college musicians. All concerts take place at the historic Nichols Concert Hall, 1490 Chicago Avenue in the heart of downtown Evanston.

Lambertville, New Jersey's Downtown Performing Arts Center has announced a 6-week summer class schedule focusing on Teen and Adult Acting, Tap, Ballet, Jazz and Contemporary Dance. Classes will take place on Tuesday evenings between 5 pm and 8 pm from July 7 through August 11 at the Downtown Performing Arts Studios located at 54 Mt. Airy Village Rd. in Lambertville.

In an unprecedented series of events worldwide on April 30 th, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz joined together to celebrate and recognize jazz as a vehicle for freedom of expression and dialogue between cultures.

Berklee College of Music president Roger H. Brown will present Julio Iglesias, Doug Morris, Harvey Mason, and Dee Dee Bridgewater with honorary doctor of music degrees at Berklee's commencement ceremony, Saturday, May 9, at the 7,000-seat Agganis Arena at Boston University. More than 900 Berklee graduates, their parents, and invited guests will be in attendance.

Omaha Performing Arts' 2015/2016 Season will include a celebration of the organization's 10th anniversary, Celebrate 10. Details on the festivities as well as the 15/16 Season were announced during a subscriber and patron event at the Holland Performing Arts Center on March 23. Special performances by cast members of Disney's NEWSIES and Celia Hottenstein and Eric Ruiz, who star as Christina and Raoul in THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, were part of the announcement. The dance troupe BANDALOOP opened the event with an awe-inspiring aerial performance.

The 26th annual edition of Gypsy of the Year raised a record-breaking $5,229,611 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, thanks to six weeks of fundraising by 64 Broadway, Off-Broadway and national touring companies. The grand total was announced Tuesday, December 9, 2014, by special guests Hugh Jackman, Nathan Lane and Judith Light after two stellar performances of original dances, songs and skits by more than 200 'gypsies' from Broadway and Off-Broadway shows.
