Cincinnati Playhouse to Stage A CHRISTMAS CAROL

The Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park's joyous, time-honored celebration of the true spirit of the holidays achieves the quarter-century mark this season as U.S. Bank presents Charles Dickens' iconic story A CHRISTMAS CAROL. The beloved tale, enjoyed each season by multiple generations of Cincinnatians, will be performed for its 25th year in the Playhouse's Robert S. Marx Theatre from Nov. 25 through Dec. 30.

Music Theatre International Chairman and CEO Freddie Gershon and his wife Myrna hosted eight outstanding educators from schools and performing arts centers around the country for four days of classes and activities honoring them for working to make a difference for their students and communities through the process of staging musical theatre productions in their schools and educational theatre groups. The event known as the 6th Annual FREDDIE G FELLOWSHIP culminated in a gala dinner at Chez Josephine on July 11th. Joining the festivities were Broadway greats Bernadette Peters and Brian d'Arcy James. Scroll down for photos!
Cincinnati Playhouse Extends TENDERLY: THE ROSEMARY CLOONEY MUSICAL

Due to continued demand for tickets, the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park has added a second extension to its popular production of TENDERLY: THE ROSEMARY CLOONEY MUSICAL, which celebrates Cincinnati's legendary 'girl singer.' The show, originally set to close on Dec. 28 and then extended through Jan. 4, now will run through Jan. 11, 2015.

Playhouse in the Park brings the 'Girl Singer' home this holiday season with Tenderly: The Rosemary Clooney Musical. The show takes the audience on a journey from 'Rosie's' childhood to fame, to mental breakdown, to her comeback career; all through therapy sessions during which we are regaled with some of her most well known songs.

Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati (ETC) presents the return of one of its most cherished family-friendly holiday musicals Sleeping Beauty, by local playwright Joseph McDonough with music and lyrics by David Kisor, playing today, December 3, 2014 through January 4, 2015. In the tradition of ETC's 'fractured fairytale' holiday productions, Sleeping Beauty is a modern spin on the classic tale by Charles Perrault. This revamped production features a magical set design, an updated musical score and story, enchanting comedy, and a blooming twist on the meaning of love. Directed by D. Lynn Meyers. Premiere Sponsor is Macy's.

The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) has announced initial details on its 2014-15 Concert Series. Encompassing over 50 different concerts, this series begins with a performance by the internationally acclaimed Ariel Quartet with legendary guest artist Menahem Pressler on Sept. 9, 2014, and concludes with a number of performances by CCM's Preparatory Department running May 1 - 9, 2015.
