In Todd Bauer's world premiere play, The Bird Feeder Doesn't Know, an adult son living with cerebral palsy and dealing with the needs and demands of his aging parents learns that it's easier for birds to leave the nest than it is for humans to break away from their parents.. This tragicomic three-character play was developed by Raven Theatre Company [WORKING TITLE] New Play Development Series.
Polarity Ensemble Theatre presents the world premiere of Richard Engling's drama ANNA IN THE AFTERLIFE, a play that explores the issue of suicide and its repercussions beyond the grave, directed by Susan Padveen. Arthur Miller's intense drama, raising questions of morality and the limits of family ties, promises to be a special opening production for Raven's 2014-2015 season. Headlining the cast will be Chuck Spencer and JoAnn Montemurro as Joe and Kate Keller. These two Raven ensemble members, who earned accolades for their work as Willy and Linda Loman in Miller's Death of a Salesman and as Victor and Esther Franz in his The Price, will play Joe and Kate Keller. Raven first produced All My Sons in 1990 and they appeared in that production as well, playing George Deever and Ann Deever.

'Men like women with character,' is the sisterly advice a muddied, snarling, grief-stricken and murderously-crazed Elektra gives to pretty little Chrysothemis in Ann Carson's wildly clever adaptation of the ancient Greek story of bloody family doings titled An Oresteia. Growled in all seriousness by the fabulously bitter Annika Boras, the line got a huge laugh the afternoon I caught Classic Stage Company's crackling good premiere production; the swiftest five hours of theatre I've enjoyed in a long, long time.
