 Shriver Hall Concert Series - Baltimore’s premier presenter of chamber music ensembles and solo recitalists — today announced its 2022-2023 season.

The San Francisco–based Kronos Quartet/Kronos Performing Arts Association (KPAA) and SFJAZZ are pleased to present the Bay Area premiere of At War With Ourselves - 400 Years of You, an evening-length song cycle exploring race relations and movements for social justice, civil rights, and resistance. At War With Ourselves will have two San Francisco performances at SFJAZZ Center, May 7-8, 2022. 

On Friday, May 6 at 7:30PM, acclaimed composer Osvaldo Golijov’s poignant and emotional new work Falling Out of Time receives its New York premiere in Zankel Hall.

On Sunday, May 15, 2022 at 5:30pm, Shriver Hall Concert Series (SHCS) - Baltimore's premier presenter of chamber music ensembles and solo recitalists - will present the two-time Grammy Award-winning Pacifica Quartet and soprano Karen Slack in the Baltimore premiere of A Double Standard, a new SHCS co-commission by Baltimore-based composer James Lee III.

New York Classical Players will present two performances of Hommage à J.S. Bach, featuring the U.S. premiere of Vivian Fung's Concerto for Two Violins and String Orchestra, as well as Eric Nathan's Dancing with J. S. Bach No. 1, both of which draw inspiration from Bach's musical innovations.

Kronos Quartet returns to New York City with a performance in Zankel Hall on Saturday, April 23 at 9:30 p.m. The ensemble makes a timely statement with an eclectic program featuring George Crumb’s Black Angels, the iconic work that inspired the founding of the ensemble. The piece is a powerful parable written in response to the Vietnam War, scored for amplified string quartet with percussive sounds, spoken-word passages, and other special effects.

On Friday, April 23, 2022 at 9:30pm, Carnegie Hall presents the renowned Kronos Quartet at Zankel Hall.

The George London Foundation for Singers concludes its 2021-22 season of events with a recital by tenor Aaron Blake, a 2017 George London Award winner who has received acclaim in some of opera's most prominent recent productions, with pianist Ken Noda.

Sheku and Isata are featured in a recital of timeless sonatas including Beethoven's Cello Sonata in C Major, Op. 102, No. 1; Shostakovich's Cello Sonata in D minor, Op. 40; Britten's Cello Sonata in C Major, Op. 65; and Frank Bridge's Cello Sonata in D minor.
