Rattlestick Playwrights Theater Extends A SUMMER DAY Through December 8

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater Artistic Director David Van Asselt and Managing Director Brian Long have announced that the American premiere of A Summer Day, a play written by Jon Fosse (International Ibsen Award in 2010), and directed and translated by Sarah Cameron Sunde, will extend through Saturday, December 8.

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater's THROUGH THE YELLOW HOUR and A SUMMER DAY Resume Tonight, 11/3

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater Artistic Director David Van Asselt and Managing Director Brian Long have announced that its productions of the world premiere of Through the Yellow Hour, written and directed by Adam Rapp, and the American premiere of A Summer Day, written by Jon Fosse, and directed and translated by Sarah Cameron Sunde, will resume tonight, Saturday, November 3, both at 8pm. Through the Yellow Hour plays at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, 224 Waverly Place, and A Summer Day plays at the Cherry Lane Theatre, 38 Commerce Street.

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater's Artistic Director David Van Asselt and Managing Director Brian Long have announced that Jesse Eisenberg and Vanessa Redgrave will star in the world premiere of Eisenberg's The Revisionist, directed by Kip Fagan, which begins its limited run on Wednesday, February 6 and opens Thursday, February 21 at the Cherry Lane Theatre, 38 Commerce Street. The Revisionist is scheduled to run through March 31, 2013.

Jose Rivera, the Obie Award-winning playwright and Academy Award nominee (The Motorcycle Diaries) will move from the page to the stage when he joins the cast of his play Massacre (Sing to Your Children), having its world premiere at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater (224 Waverly Place - off Seventh Avenue South, between Perry & West 11th Streets), it was announced today. Rattlestick Playwrights Theater has announced the cast and creative team for the world premiere of Massacre (Sing to Your Children), by Obie Award-winning playwright Jose Rivera, directed by Brian Mertes. Performances will begin Wednesday, April 4th at Rattlestick Theater (224 Waverly Place - off Seventh Avenue South, between Perry & West 11th Streets). The official opening night is set for Thursday, April 12th. The production is scheduled to run through May 12th.

Rattlestick Playwrights Theatre Postpones THE WOOD Opening Until 9/15

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater announced today that due to Hurricane Irene, performances of The Wood, a new play by award-winning filmmaker Dan Klores about the life of New York columnist Mike McAlary, have been delayed. The Wood will now begin performances on Thursday, September 1 at Rattlestick Theater (224 Waverly Place - off Seventh Avenue South, between Perry & West 11th Streets). Opening night, previously set for Friday, September 9, will now be Thursday, September 15 at 8pm. David Bar Katz directs.
